IIM Bangalore is proud to host the 'OnCampus Event' of the Hult Prize competition, a prestigious global student competition, on February 27, 2022, after a hiatus of 3 years. The annual competition, conducted by the Hult Prize Foundation, awards one million dollars in start-up funding to a team of students that develops the most radical and breakthrough idea to solve one of the world's most challenging and relevant social challenges. The theme for this year is "Getting the World Back to Work", which revolves around creating meaningful work opportunities as millions of people lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Intending to transform how young people envision their potential as leaders of change in the world around them, the Hult Prize Foundation is hosting college and university events globally, searching for the next, most disruptive social entrepreneurship idea. Vipul Bhola, a PGP2 student at IIMB and Campus Director, Hult Prize 2022, in association with ICON – The Consulting Club at IIMB, will be leading the IIMB 'OnCampus Event' and is confident in his classmates' chance to go all the way and win this year's Hult Prize. "It's not every day that you have an opportunity to change the world. This is our chance to show the world that IIMB is dedicated to making a global impact.", Vipul said. The winners of the intra-campus event at IIM Bangalore will advance to compete in one among a dozen virtual Regional Summits. One winning team from each Regional Summit will then move onto a Global Accelerator program, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory, and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set up to launch their new social business. On progressing to the Global Finals, the finalist teams will pitch their business idea to a panel of extraordinary judges and get a chance to receive funding of $1,000,000 from the Hult Prize Foundation. The Hult Prize Global Finals are scheduled for September 2022.
