IIM Bodh Gaya is now the first third-generation IIM to have its own integrated campus. The building was built and furnished under initiatives taken by the Government of Bihar. The IIM has moved from Magadha University Building to the newly constructed VIHAR administration block. The college, in only four years, has achieved this major feat of shifting into its own campus, which is in its expanding stage. The newly-established IIM now boasts of state-of-the-art facilities like Centralised AC, Computerised Classrooms, Computer Labs, fully equipped Central Library and high speed internet connectivity (Beltron and NKN) among other things, which would augment student’s learning and help them become better managers.
The new building, ‘Vihar’ has class rooms and auditorium named after the five basic elements of the Universe namely: Vayu(60 students), Jal(60 students), Agni(40 students), Vyom(70 students) and Bhumi(150 students). The current capacity of the institute’s hostel, Aryabhata and Bhaskara has increased to 200 students compromising of both single and double occupancy. There are separate academic and administrative blocks along offices for Placement Committee, IR Committee and Media and PR cell, adding to this development is an eco-friendly campus.
To embark this ecstatic moment for the institute, the director addressed the students instructing them on how to use the forth-coming two years for their own advantage and assuring them that they can always count on assistance from the institute. The excitement of the students was at par with the dedication of the college members and this was something worth-noticing.
