The 2022 IIM Kozhikode placements report is now out! This year, IIM Kozhikode has reported an increase of over 30 percent in the highest, median, and average salary for the MBA batch. A total of 571 offers were extended by 116 recruiters on campus including top brands like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Mahindra Group, Adani Group, and Reliance Industries amongst others. Key Salary Highlights From the MBA Placement Report | IIM Kozhikode Placements 2022
In 2022, IIM Kozhikode witnessed a highest salary of INR 61.5 lakhs - an increase of 31 percent over the previous year. The average salary increased by 31 percent as well, while the median salary increased by 33 percent as compared to last year. This uptick in salaries offered is impressive and is consistent with what has been seen in the
placements processes at other top-tier institutes.
Notably, the women of IIM Kozhikode's graduating MBA batch, who make up half the batch, will earn greater salaries on average. The hike in the average salary for women candidates is at a staggering 34 percent. The averages of the top five, ten, and twenty five percent of salaries also saw an impressive year-on-year increase.
In terms of domain wise salaries, the average salaries were highest for Operations (INR 35.59 lakhs) and IT/Analytics (INR 32.80 lakhs) roles. While Finance roles, on average, paid relatively the lowest, the average salary for these roles stood at INR 21.57 lakhs - no meagre amount. The highest salary in 2022 came from the Sales and Marketing domain, followed by the IT/Analytics domain.
Two out of Five IIM-K Students Choose Consulting Jobs | IIM Kozhikode Placements 2022
In the past five years, Consulting has always been the most sought-after domain for the graduating MBA batch at IIM Kozhikode. In 2022, 41 percent of the batch flocked to Consulting jobs - higher than the number of students opting for the next two most sought-after domains, combined. The overall number of Consulting offers also increased by 50 percent over the previous year.
Finance and IT/Analytics roles were opted for by 30 percent of the batch, while General Management was the least preferred domain on campus in 2022.
In terms of sector wise recruitment, companies in the Consulting and BFSI sectors recruited most number of students. Other preferred sectors included Retail and Ecommerce, as well as IT/Analytics.
Domain-wise Companies on Campus | IIM Kozhikode Placements 2022
In 2022, a total of 571 offers were extended by 116 recruiters to the 546-strong MBA batch of 2022 at IIM Kozhikode - or an offers per student ratio of 1.4. Around 15% of the recruiters were startups, including many Unicorns that offered multiple roles. Of all the total number of offers, 38 percent were pre-placement offers (PPOs). In terms of international offers, IIM Kozhikode students received 6 international offers from 3 companies for Growth and Strategy roles.
The number of consulting offers increased by more than 50 percent y-o-y with a host of marquee recruiters participating, including Accenture, Bain, BCG, Blue Yonder, Clarivate, Deloitte, Everest, EY, EY-Parthenon, GEP, McKinsey, Optum, PwC, and Synergy hiring from IIM-K.
Axis Bank, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse, D.E. Shaw, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase and Standard Chartered offered diverse finance roles and recruiters including Avendus Capital, Equirus, Merisis, and TRMG offered front-end Investment Banking roles. General Management witnessed a 46 percent increase in the number of offers from last year. Among others, conglomerates such as ABInBev, Adani, Axis Bank, Capgemini, CityMall, Diageo, Mahindra, and Reliance recruited for their prestigious management programs.
IT/Analytics witnessed an increase of 43 percent in the mean salary, with recruiters such as American Express, CarDekho, Google, Meesho, Microsoft, Navi, PhonePe, Walmart, and Zebpay recruiting for Data Analytics, Product Management, and other diversified roles in the Ecommerce sector.
Operations witnessed an increase of 47 percent in the number of offers over the previous year. Recruiters such as Amazon, Flipkart, Ola, Porter, RPG and Uber extended offers for multiple roles, while Garena, and Schindler were among the first-time recruiters. Sales & Marketing witnessed a year-on-year increase of 40 percent in the average salary.
