IIM Raipur successfully completed its summer placements for the batch of 2016-18.
Despite an increase in the batch size by 45%, the institute has fortified its reputation as one of the leading pool of management talent in the country.
The current batch of 2016-18 consists of 204 dynamic individuals, ready to make their mark in the corporate world.The industry response complemented the zeal of the students as
more than 150 organisations offering diverse profiles and handsome stipends expressed interest in recruiting from the campus.The highest stipend offered was Rs 2,85,000 whereas the average stood at Rs 57,562.The average stipend offered to the top 10 percentile, top 25 percentile and the top 50 percentile of the batch were Rs 1,59,111, Rs 1,15,511 and Rs 85,438 respectively.

This year's Summer Placement witnessed the participation of some more industry giants as our first-time internship recruiters such as Arcesium, Backspace Consulting LLP, Axis Bank, Berger Paints, GEP, Glencore, Godrej Aerospace, HDFC AMC, HP, Mafatlal, Maybank, Mahindra Finance, Mondelez, Sutherland, Vedanta, VMware, Walmart to name a few.
With 48% of the batch placed in Sales and Marketing, it was a standout among the profiles offered this season. A wide range of recruiters offered a gamut of profiles such as Marketing, Business Development, Digital Marketing, and Sales. The prominent recruiters were companies like Amul, Bluestar, BPCL, CUMI, Dabur, DCM Shriram, DHFL Pramerica, Donear, Healthkart, Hero MotoCorp, Mondelez, Sanofi, TATA Steel, TAFE, Vodafone, Wipro and many more.
Students secured internships with renowned names operating in the BFSI and NBFC sectors.Top recruiters included Axis Bank, Arcesium, Bajaj Allianz, BSE, Centrum, HDFC AMC, ICICI Bank, IL&FS, Karvy, L&T, Maybank Financial Services, Mahindra Finance, RBI, SEBI and Xpress Money.Some of the roles offered were Financial Analytics, Risk Management, Bank Loan Rating, Financial Modeling, Corporate Finance, and Portfolio Management.
The sector of Operations & IT witnessed huge participation from corporate giants such as CUMI, DCM Shriram, GEP, Google,HP, Hero MotoCorp, ITC Infotech, JK Paper Mills, MAN Trucks, JSPL, L&T, Tata Steel, TVS Logistics,Sutherland, Ultra Tech Cements, Walmart Labs, WIPRO which offered a plethora of profiles related to Logistics, SCM, Plant Operations, IT Operations, Systems Management etc.
In the area of
Consulting and General Management, the recruiters were on the lookout for students willing to work in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment. Some of the prominent recruiters included Backspace Consulting LLP, Brandcare, Deloitte, EY, HP, ITC Infotech and KPMG offering their prestigious internship opportunities to the students. Profiles stretched across Business & Technology Consulting, Strategy Consulting, Management consulting & Research.
The Human Resources domain saw a surge in demand from the industry this year with several firms offering the HR profiles for the first time.
Esteemed brands such as Deloitte, Healthkart, Mafatlal, JSW
Energy, Middle Earth HR and Vedanta offered numerous profiles such as Strategic HR, Learning & Development, HR Management, etc. A few students, as part of their internship, have received an exceptional opportunity to pursue the internationally recognised HR and Marketing certification programs by CAMI.
