IIM Rohtak has concluded its summer placement process for the class of 2018 of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management. The average stipend of Rs. 56,479 saw a rise of 12% over the previous year. The highest stipend for two months was Rs. 247,800, up from last year’s Rs. 234,000. The growth is as follows: A total of 61 companies participated in the summer placement process, of which 32 were first-time recruiters. Some of the prominent brands that offered summer internship were Arcesium, Dabur, Amazon, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, SEBI, United Health Group, Idea, Cognizant, Wipro, JSPL, L&T, Future Generali, IDFC Bank, to name a few. Two international firms also showed interest.


The batch diversity in terms of educational background and work experience was appreciated by the industry. There were 140 students who went for the summer placements this year. The offers rolled outspanned across the major domains of Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations, Information Technology, General Management and Consulting.

The roles being offered for this year’s summer internship process for Marketing and Sales domain spanned across market research, B2B marketing, B2C marketing, brand strategy, brand promotion, rural marketing, sales, advertising etc. This was the most sought after domain, with 49% of the batch opting for the same. It was followed by 17% students going for Finance domain, in which the roles offered included General Management, Corporate Finance, Retail Banking, Portfolio Management etc. Another 16% of the students opted for IT and Consulting. The remaining students chose Operations and HR roles.
