Located in the East Khasi Hills district, 4908 feet above the sea level, the IIM Shillong campus has a serene, congenial and pollution free environment which surely feels like a paradise. “Campus in Clouds” what they call, it feels like you are wrapped in a white satin with beauty all around to quench your soul. With lush green forests and well-maintained lawns, the institute was set up at the Mayurbhanj Palace, which dates back to the Mayurbhanj Kings of Odisha. The location of the campus is unique in respect of beauty and panoramic views of picturesque. Not only the campus oozes the peace and tranquillity, but the people too have a different sense of calmness and are a composition which makes us feel at home. The campus is strongly grounded in core values and adheres to it in every single possible way. Ethical values, compassion for others and concern for society is what makes my campus stand out from others. The campus has a good diversity of students among all age groups, from engineers to arts, single to married, Delhi to Port Blair, from every corner of the country, students have come together which helps us in acquiring much broader mindset, learn every culture and explore about them. The best part about my campus is its ever-growing emphasis on sustainability and business practices. A foundation course on Sustainability for one week was specifically set up for all the students to sensitize them about the alarming need of balance between commercialisation and values. The course was made well engaged and innovative throughout with lots of extracurricular activities in between. The course end was followed by a Sustainability Trek to Mawphlang Sacred Forests. The place literally made you feel like you are in Scotland of East. Open grass fields and a little mist, the view was completely mesmerising. We were educated about the history of forest, the trees which are 800 years old and the Khasi traditions which used to take place. The gurgling sound of a gentle brook, the chirping of birds amidst the calm of the forest soothes you. The trek has been the best part about college life so far and It's a lifetime experience that I shall cherish all my life.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

Having completed an on job trainee program at Outlook Group of magazines as a sales and marketing intern and having served as a Camps Manager at BloodConnect, India’s largest youth-run organization in the field of blood donation, I have built my inclination towards marketing domain. I have completed my under graduation in B.Sc. (Honors) Chemistry, and have well-versed knowledge of the chemical field. Hence, I would like to create amalgamation of these two and wish to opt for Aditya Birla Chemicals Ltd. The Aditya Birla Group's chemicals business has built a strong global presence with products that are recognised the world over for their high quality. Having prior experience with both the domains will help me in doing justice to this company.
