The Tata Business Leadership Award (TBLA) is an annual B-school event organized by the Tata group which was started in 2004. Over the years, it has become the perfect platform for students from select business schools to compete with the brightest minds and display their business acumen while addressing the business challenges faced by the Tata group of companies. The competition consists of two rounds basically - one is the Campus Round and the other is the National finals held in Mumbai. The campus rounds are evaluated by senior Tata leaders with vast experience across different sectors. The campus winner is given a chance to compete at the TBLA National Finals held at Taj Mahal Palace & Towers, Mumbai.
This year, a team comprising of Animesh Agarwal, Sharmin Chowdhary, Sourabh Kothari and Abhishek Sinha from PGP 12 batch made IIM Shillong immensely proud by reaching the National finals of TBLA 2013 held in Mumbai and finishing as first runner up team. Animesh Agarwal from the team says “Learning from our seniors and peers played a very important role in our success; especially the inputs from our seniors around which we modified our presentation. When these suggestions were lauded by the panel, we felt we were among really good people”.
We are confident that this marks the beginning of a new era for IIM Shillong which will definitely grow to further higher levels of excellence in the coming years and make its presence felt in the top Business schools of India.
