Indian Institute of Management concluded its placement season for the 6
th batch. The highest package offered was Rs. 21 LPA which was in the consulting domain.
A total of 42 companies participated in the placement process making 130 offers across various domains to a batch of 119 students. One student opted out of the placement process to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.
The average package went up from last year and stood at Rs. 13.04LPA. Owing to the successful performance of the students of IIM Shillong during their internship, 21% of the batch received Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).
Prominent recruiters like HSBC, Deloitte, Nomura, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Wipro, HCL, KPMG and GSK Pharma continued to show faith in the students of IIM Shillong.
The highlight of the placement season was the first time participation of globally renowned recruiters like Google, American Express, L’Oreal, Flipkart, Perfetti Van Melle, Hero MotoCorp and J.P.Morgan among others.
Cognizant emerged as the leading recruiter making 12 offers in its Business Consulting and Business Development domains while HSBC made 10 offers in the domain of Investment Banking and Equity Research.
Professor Sanjoy Mukherjee, Chairman, Placements, PR and Student Activities, attributed the success of the placement season of IIM Shillong to the relentless efforts of the placement committee, faculties and staff.
