IIM Shillong, the campus that is not built as a B-School building but a palace. The campus where the generous nature heartens students to stay ebulliently enthusiastic and reap leadership skills. The campus where little droplets suspended in the air would hit your face and keep you fresh and ready for next mammoth challenge of your MBA. These things contribute to making IIM Shillong unique, but the more significant contribution is caused by the congruent goals of the facilitators and participants. Everyone in the campus is determined to contribute towards the North-eastern region and the society by promising leaders that are substantially packed with ethical values and sustainable practices.

The altruistic approach is one thing that drives the campus and kindles the entrepreneurship and leadership flame in the participants. Starting from the subjects in the initial trimesters where the projects are taken up by students are aimed at developing the North-east from developing a business model to improving the employment or generate a new market to developing a sustainable plan for the campus to make our campus greener and reduce the waste produced internally. The aim of the project does not do justice to the effort that goes behind it. The dedicated phase of the projects where the students are made to get in physical touch with the inhabitants of Shillong to understand their needs and their perspective of IIM Shillong; this caters to the better understanding of a population that imbibes a culture that is at odds with the culture which participants have experienced. This hands-on experience of understanding a marketplace and connecting with the needs of the consumers pillars the establishment of participants as entrepreneurs. It would be unfair to call IIM Shillong just a B-School, but the way it facilitates the learning process of a participant, it acts as a playground for our skills.

The picturesque landscapes that help revive us from the hectic schedules and refuel us to a point where we are all set to deliver an electrifying performance again. These regular breaks from corporate learnings and subjects and waking up to a view that is always a notch above the previous one that you tagged as the best view ever makes IIM Shillong probably the most dynamic B-School.  The campus is full of unique elements that are hard to list at any point in time, but these elements fit like puzzle pieces to bring out IIM Shillong in all its glory.

I would like to join Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) as it combines international brands such as Forever 21 and American Eagle Outfitters with Indian ones like Allen Solly and Van Heusen to present a wide range of offerings to consumers. I believe my background in data analytics will help the company target the Indian youth with its diverse offering more efficiently. Further, the company’s push for growth in both online and offline modes will help propel my own learning curve forward.
