IIM Shillong - A New Journey

As the results were declared and I was all set to spend the next two years of my life in the campus of clouds. It was not the first time that I was supposed to leave my family and spending the past seven years of my life in different places and away from them my parents were quite okay with the fact that I was supposed to leave for a good reason. As soon as the results were declared I was given some kind of special treatment from everyone around.

Soon came the time for us to leave for IIM Shillong. IIM Shillong as we all know is in Meghalaya, the less discovered part of India, my parents came along with me. I took a flight from Kolkata to Guwahati which was a 1 hour 45 minutes long journey and it was approximately four and a half hours depending on the traffic from Guwahati to Shillong. I booked a cab from the airport itself and it was the most memorable car ride of my life because of the beautiful sceneries. There are many stops for food and refreshments on the way to Shillong and out of which we stopped at jiva on G S Road, Nongpoh. On the way there was picturesque landscape, cascading waterfalls and diverse flora and fauna. It is home to the tribal khasis and offers an interesting peek into their unique culture. The historical buildings and structures reflect the colonial charm of British rule. The journey was extremely hassle-free and it was covered in optimal time. There was a very narrow lane which headed towards the doors of IIM Shillong, I entered the college at 7 pm and my journey of being a student of this prestigious institute started something like this.

I would like to work in the Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) which emerged after the consolidation of the branded apparel businesses of Aditya Birla Group comprising ABNL's Madura Fashion division and ABNL's subsidiaries Pantaloons Fashion and Retail (PFRL) and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle (MF&L) in May 2015. The main reason for choosing this company is because this is something where my interest lies and I would be easily able to communicate my knowledge in this domain and in turn help this company to reach better heights in the coming future.
