What makes my campus unique? Well one wouldn’t need to ask if she focuses on the Shillong part of my college name. Everything about this campus was the first in my life. As a matter of fact, it was this campus that I travelled to north east for the first time. I always heard people saying that north east that heaven in our country when is completely unexplored and the paradox is the reason it is still a heaven is because it is unexplored. But hearing or reading can’t express even an essence of the beauty of this place no matter how hard an author ties, there will always be something that you wouldn’t have witnessed until you came here.
The campus beyond the gate is the dream of millions and you have not accomplished it the day you receive the admission letter but the day you set you foot on the campus. There you see IIM SHILLONG engraved in bold on the grass. That is the time when you know you have made it here, here to the Campus In CLOUDS!
The campus is green! I’m not really talking about the logo, the green painted rooftops and mountains you get the view of from you window. The campus cares about nature. If an area is not a building, then it’s some plant! Here at IIM Shillong, we take nature mankind ethics and sustainability very seriously. And it reflects in the very design of the college.
Another very appreciable thing about my campus is the impeccable neatness of the place. This is not because we spend a lot on cleaning but it because nobody litters. People here are very sensitized. It will be challenging for you to find a tap running idle or a light switched on in vain. This not something which is taught in classes it is the culture of IIM Shillong.
Our campus is the truly a synergy of nature and technology. We are simple in design and close to nature but when it comes to technology we are state of the art. And the commendable part of it is that being in Shillong which is not as well connected my all the modes of transport, we have all the things we could have asked for the successful completion of our course and beyond.
In the end, I could only say the perfect synergy of nature and technology, traditional and modern values and, campus and clouds are what makes this campus truly unique.
Which ABG company I would love to learn from?
I would like to work with idea cellular. The company after its due merger with Vodafone will become the biggest telecom company in India with a customer base of 400 million customer. I believe this will be a game changer for both companies. The Merger is eagerly awaited. Though the 2007 merger of Vodafone with Hutchison Essar was criticized to be a bad monetary deal for Vodafone yet the market presence that merger gave to Vodafone was the real bounty. I expect this merger to be a bigger success as both the companies this time will merger their concerned customer base. This will be a competition to both Jio and the Bharti Airtel and Tata Telecom merger.
