IIM Shillong - Picturesque Abode

Campus in Clouds, IIM Shillong is a picturesque abode. IIM Shillong campus with its palatial building and regal drive-in, the bounteous flowery gardens on either side of the sloping drive-in and the pine trees lining the campus and the glorious sun rises beyond miles of wooden rooftops and mist-clad hills. The picturesque environment plays a big role in gruelling journey to becoming qualified managers.

Though it has only been 3 weeks on campus, the experience so far has been thrilling. We have been introduced to the culture rich with family values of both the seniors and faculty alike, the sheer effort to help us, the newcomers, engage in the truly unique world of IIM Shillong has been quiet a inspiring experience.

The atmosphere is very cordial to learning and filled with a dearth of opportunities scattered in the form of competitions, skill improvement, networking and a robust infrastructure for fertile subject matter learning. Diversity thrives in every heartbeat of the institution, be in terms of the diverse set of students in terms of backgrounds as wide in spectrum as Psychology, agricultural studies, fashion graduates, marine engineers, environmental specialists to the staple of MBA colleges the engineers and economics grads or be it in terms of faculty, having heard the colorful experiences of the faculty has been awe-inspiring, ranging from green economists to world economic forum leaders to PHds with the experience of  full time travelling and farming and marketing and IT experts who will just make you traverse the world on their magic carpets in a matter of minutes.

I believe the institute truly stands for the process of selection of its arsenal of future leaders and building a sustainable and a balanced society.

I would like to work in the Aditya Birla fashion & retail limited in the domain of marketing, ABFRL brings together the learnings and businesses of two renowned Indian fashion icons, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and Pantaloons Fashion and Retail. The presence of omnipresent brands such as Van Heusen, Allen Solly etc provide an enthralling opportunity for my career aspirations.
