What makes IIM Trichy unique
Nestled in the southern part of India in the scenic city of Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu, the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli is an amalgamation of erudition and culture. Founded in 2011, the IIM Trichy family has since then grown to brimming heights, encompassing a rich culture. In adherence to our motto “Gyanam Anantam” which means “Knowledge is endless”, the IIM Trichy family continuously strives to achieve academic excellence and hone future leaders. In a short span of time, the institute has grown exponentially, from being in the NIT Trichy campus to now operating in a 175 acre state of the art campus of its own. We also have a dedicated sports complex of our own inside the campus.
The exponential growth achieved by the institute is a true testament to the level of quality that we stand by and embody. The institute was ranked number 15 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development under the Government of India in 2018. The institute is accredited by the CFA Institute University Recognition Programme, offering scholarships to a number of students for the CFA Programme. A plethora of guest lectures make this institute a knowledge hub that is continuing to thrive and flourish. Our students have won laurels in several competitions including the National round of the prestigious CFA Research Challenge 2018 to state an example. IIM Trichy introduced the “International Week” – a first of its kind initiative among IIMs, a global initiative to facilitate knowledge transfer across countries where guest lecturers from various universities across the world come to our campus. We have renowned faculty with varied experience who stimulate engaging discussions and foster knowledge.
Academics being of the utmost importance, we also devote equal importance to overall holistic development as individuals as well. Our business cultural fest “Dhruva”, management conclave “Nishtha” are few examples of events that we conduct. We have a plethora of student clubs ranging from academia to arts and culture, having no dearth of opportunities for students to explore and grow.
The most recent batch of PGPM 2018-20 has created history by being the first ever batch to have nearly 50% women students in the batch. This is a new milestone. Having excellent diversity in the batch will stimulate better peer learning and this a benchmark that we have set for the upcoming batches to come.

Which Aditya Birla Group would I want to work for?
It would be a privilege to work for the Aditya Birla Group, one of the biggest multinational conglomerates in the country. It is a dream of every management student to be able to contribute to such an esteemed company. Given an opportunity, I would like to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL).
I am a student hoping to pursue marketing as my specialisation during my second year of the Post Graduate Programme in Management. ABFRL has several well- known brands under its portfolio like Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Planet Fashion, The Collective, Hackett London, and Forever 21 among others. Getting an opportunity to be able to work with these brands, gain valuable insights and contribute effectively to the organisation would be my aspiration. It is indeed a great opportunity for a PGPM student specialising in marketing to be able to work with some of the most well-known brands in India and the esteemed Aditya Birla Group.
