Post Graduate Program of IIM Tiruchirappalli has been recognized by the CFA Institute under its University Recognition Program. As a result of this recognition, IIM Tiruchirappalli, will be listed on the CFA Institute website and other venues promoting the University Recognition Program. This would also facilitate provision of three CFA Program Awareness Scholarships to IIM Trichy students each fiscal year.
CFA Institute is the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and administers the industry gold standard CFA charter. The organization is a champion for ethical behaviour in investment markets and a respected source of knowledge in the global financial community. The CFA Program sets a standard for developing the skills, standards, competence, and integrity of financial analysts, portfolio managers, investment advisers, and other investment professionals worldwide. It is widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing program.
As part of the University recognition program, Ms Sonia Gandhi, member of Indian Association of Investment Professionals (IAIP), conducted a guest lecture at the IIM Trichy campus. The lecture was held on “Ethics and Financial markets. The lecture covered brief history of the financial market bubbles/crises and these were discussed though the ethical issues involved in it. A couple of case studies relating to recognising ethical and legal issues were discussed, teaching students some basic techniques towards enhanced mindfulness. Ms Gandhi is an investment industry professional with over 15 years’ experience with various multinational investment banks.
