What makes IIM Trichy unique?
IIM Trichy has come a long way since its inception in 2011. I am currently a student of PGP 17-19, the 7th batch of PGP from IIM Trichy. It’s been more than a year’s stay here and I feel that although it’s tough to compare IIM level Institutes, IIM Trichy certainly holds its own in comparison with other colleges, let alone other IIMs.
In my opinion following are the reasons that make IIM Trichy unique:
1. Firstly, the permanent state-of-the-art campus which is spread over 175 acres is perhaps arguably the most sophisticated, modern campus ever built. Special attention has been given towards energy conservation, where all the rooms in the campus and even in the hostels are constructed with sensors attached. So, as to minimize the wastage of electricity and other power resources. Also, IIM Trichy has signed a memorandum of understanding with power PSU Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) for financial assistance to set up a 2-megawatt solar power plant at IIMT's permanent campus.
IIMT will be first among all IIMs to have a 2 MW Solar power plant on campus. With classrooms intended for the comfort of millennial understudies at the top of the priority list, the academic block boasts of classrooms that have the seating capacity of, 250, 100, 80, 50, and multipurpose rooms to encourage shared learning. The Learning Resource Center, or Library, building wonder, intended to look each piece the pulsating heart of the Institute. A Finance Lab, a Behavioral Lab and a Center for Management Science and Analytics (CMSA) are a couple of a greater amount of the gems that will decorate IIMT's crown.
Personally, one of the biggest factors of happiness of students here is the availability of personal ACs in the hostel rooms which are single occupancy meaning you can have your privacy and you don’t have to sweat either in the hot climate of Trichy.
2. The other very important and noble venture taken up by IIM Trichy is their MAD- Make a Difference initiative, which is a mandatory task for management students of IIM Trichy. This is an initiative to remind b-school students of their responsibility to the society. The students organize themselves in groups, going on the lookout for an area in which they recognize a dire need for improvement, and going ahead to become catalysts for the change they wish to see. The "MAD" Project commences with a series of talks by recognized people in the field of social welfare to give the students an understanding on the assorted issues that torment our general public and the extent of distinction their endeavors can make, which is followed by 8 months of on-field action and coaching by a faculty mentor.
3. The third unique thing about IIM Trichy was a very recent event. The International week held at IIMTrichy. This was the first of its kind event being conducted by any IIM. IIM Trichy hosted the first ever International Week in December 2017, where globally reputed faculty from global institutes in US, Singapore, Europe came to IIM Trichy to teach students about subjects of their specialization and areas of interest. Students got a deep understanding of different aspects of Global business and different value chain activities.
In conclusion, these are just some of the tangible, prominent reasons making IIM Trichy a unique Institute. But it is only when one visits us here and spend some time, one realizes that the uniqueness is not just with the campus or teaching but in a lot more things, the culture here, the students and other precious intangibles.

The ABG company that I would like to work for is “Aditya Birla Science and Technology Company Private Limited.”
I am an Engineer by profession. Since early days I have always been fascinated with Technology and being aware of the know how of the current trends in technology. My aim at the Science and Technology Company would be to equip myself with the latest happenings in the industry and how I could contribute in a meaningful manner in the same. I also look forward to learn from the best of the best in this industry working at the company and hope to further enhance my knowledge and application of the knowledge in a meaningful way to the society and for the benefit of all.
