How has being a campus recruiter enhanced your skills and experience?Being a campus recruiter has helped me manage multiple stakeholders, work on tight deadlines, and connect with different audiences!Q. Tell us an innovation you have introduced in the campus recruitment space that you are very proud of.I don’t subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach to campus recruitment; we have tailored specific engagements for the campuses we have a strong relationship with to ensure that the students derive the maximum out of NIVEA’s presence on their campus.Q. What do you look for in a student when you hire from campus?Typically, I look for a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, and the ability to deal with ambiguity, as well as culture fitment given NIVEA’s core values.Q. What is your favourite question to ask a candidate during an interview? My favourite question is: “Tell me about a situation in which you had to get around a major obstacle to complete a project”. This helps me understand the person’s approach towards difficult situations.Q. Tell us a memorable/funny/inspiring anecdote from your campus recruiting experience.A Placement Committee member was doing his best to hurry me along a corridor as there was another company on campus. Little did he know, the recruiter for that company was a classmate. We waved to each other, and the poor guy was left stumped.Q. Who makes an ideal campus recruiter?People who are enthusiastic, understand the campus space, and are committed to ensuring that the students and the company both benefit out of every interaction.Q. What do you see as some of the emerging trends in the campus recruiting space?Companies are focusing on deep engagements with campuses, and are also now looking to engage with MBA aspirants. The adoption of online applications and assessments has also led to increased transparency, and has the potential to shift the traditional ways of campus recruitment.
