Background: Dual Degree in Materials Science and Engineering
Work Experience: 20 Months
Date: 5th March 2021, Afternoon Slot
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the interview processes at most of the B-Schools were forced to be online. But unlike most of the B-Schools, the interview process at SJMSOM was unique and one of the finest. Though separated by the distances of our home, the interview process joined each and every candidate with the admissions team of SJMSOM using the GATHER TOWN. It is a video calling space and mimicked the offline interview process but without the WAT. This process was unique to SJMSOM.
Before the interview, I was asked to log in and report in the afternoon slot on Friday. Initially, all the procedure was explained to us very nicely by the admissions team. The initial process for me was to get my documents verified.
Then after the document verification, I was asked to wait in the waiting room along with the 3 other students and a member of the admissions teams in the waiting room later to proceed into the interview room.
It was a zoom meeting space and we also interacted with the students coming out of the interview room. After that, I was called to the interview room. There were 3-panel members, one subject faculty from our graduation background and one from SJMSOM, and alumni.

Me: Explained in terms of function like Finance team, HR Team, Sales Team, etc
Alumni: Who gets benefitted if a larger company buys a smaller one?
Me: A detailed discussion happened over this and after that, I was asked to leave the meeting
After coming out of the interview, I also shared my experience with other candidates and then took my leave.
The overall interview experience was wonderful and became even better when I finally converted the interview call.
