In our list of India's Best 50 - the 50 Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2023, we feature MBA students who have walked that extra mile and done that little more to stand out! One of those featured in today's story, Kriti Goenka, has shown an incredible amount of passion to achieve her true potential.
Recommended Competition For You: Kampus Creator Hunt 2023 - India's Biggest Campus Creator Competition! | Cash Prize: ₹ 1.75 Lakhs
Kriti Goenka graduated from Shri Ram College of Commerce with a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Hons). During her time in college, her passion for the social sector prompted her to undertake an internship at the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Subsequently, she gained experience as a consultant in the Government sector. Currently, Kriti is pursuing an MBA at IIM Ahmedabad with a keen interest in exploring Management Consulting, Venture Capital, and understanding the intricacies of how businesses function and operate. Kriti Goenka approaches problem-solving through a structured and analytical approach. Firstly, she thoroughly understands the problem's context and underlying causes. Next, she breaks it down into smaller, manageable parts and prioritizes them based on impact and urgency. Then, she explores potential solutions, considering both conventional and innovative approaches. For a complex problem during her work experience, her team faced a logistics challenge with multiple delivery routes. She analyzed the data, identified inefficiencies, and devised an optimized route plan. Implementing this solution led to a 20% reduction in delivery time and cost, positively impacting the client's operations and customer satisfaction. Handling setbacks, Kriti, after a significant failure or setback, gives herself some time to relax and calm down. Then, she analyzes what went wrong in that situation and tries to learn from it. A pivotal incident that left a deep imprint on her was her experience with the EY Scholarship Competition during college. Despite not securing the winning position, the setback taught her the value of balancing hard work with smart work, leading to substantial improvements in her performance and efficiency. In an ethical decision-making scenario at her previous position, Kriti found herself navigating a moral dilemma during the hiring process for a new associate role. Choosing to uphold her ethical responsibility to foster growth and nurture talent, she declined the manager's suggestion to replace a dedicated but less experienced associate. This decision underscored the importance of patience and mentoring in leadership, leading to a more gratifying outcome. Describing a negotiation scenario while managing a team, Kriti effectively navigated resistance and fostered cooperation among team members uncomfortable with receiving directions from a woman. Using a strategic and empathetic leadership approach, she acknowledged accomplishments publicly, delivered constructive criticism in private, and used inclusive language. Over time, these strategies led to a noticeable shift in the team's dynamics, reducing resistance and fostering a cooperative atmosphere. For her candidacy as one of India's Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2023, Kriti emphasizes her exemplary achievements, diverse experiences, and eagerness to bring a unique perspective, dedication, and skills to the MBA program. Graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, securing Rank 1 in Semester 6, and earning the prestigious IIM-B merit scholarship showcase her academic excellence and potential for future success. Her work experience in governance and policy-making, leadership roles, and representation of India at AIBC, Hong Kong, add a unique dimension to her profile. Hailing from a small town in Bihar, Kriti's strong work ethic, resilience, and determination further strengthen her candidacy for India's Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2023.
