In life, all of us want to succeed, get big paychecks, be a source of inspiration to others, and above all, live a life with a purpose. We all want to work in the corner office on the top floor, but the unfortunate truth is there are only so many corner offices! Most of us will not land up there but it doesn’t mean that you do not achieve your ambitions in life and profession. You can still be the best at what you do. The person who knows the finest details and is looked up to when it comes to that particular function (or domain). To be that person, one needs to
learn a lot of relevant skills and be updated with industry trends, and this still is not sufficient. Applying the acquired knowledge to the problem at hand, at the right time, is where the big paychecks are found. Real learning sticks only after one fails even after putting his or her 100%. Overcoming challenges is a crucial aspect of profile building. Recovering from a failure broadcasts to the world that the person does not stop at anything. It takes one to go out of the comfort zone to never give up. Someone has correctly said that
“If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done.”
To overcome challenges in my life so far, I went back to the drawing board to realize what went wrong and how could I have done it alternatively. In other words, I come up with better ways to do the task. Next step is I make a point to lay down a framework which would ensure the mistakes are not repeated again. I call this the fool-proof way of doing things. This ensures the mistakes or errors are not repeated in future. I repeat this every time there is a mistake and the process gets better iteratively. Once you learn from your mistakes, you make petty errors a thing of the past and what lies ahead is nothing but success.
