The year was 2004. A man had just left his town for a job in the big city. Back home, he had a family – a wife, a son, and a daughter. He had never been away from his little girl before for this long. He knew that the little girl missed her father dearly, torn by his absence. Thinking of her, he couldn’t resist. He picked up his cellular phone and called. A few hundred miles away, a girl jumped with joy as she exclaimed, “Papa!” An Idea changed their life.
Over a decade later, the son drew a long breath before he stepped out of a dressing room thinking maybe this was the one. It had felt almost perfect when he buttoned his shirt, secured his cufflinks, pulled up the knot of his tie, smoothened his collar, and finally slid the coat on top of it. As he walked out, he stood in front of the mirror, admiring his reflection. His sister joined him, gazing as she pondered feeling this one would be the perfect suit for his wedding day. Their eyes met through the reflection, him silently seeking approval. She smiled, “Honestly? It’s impressive.” He felt that this is a great start to the beginning of good things.
Few years later…
The daughter steps into the construction site. People are hard at work as they set brick upon brick, lay cement over it, smoothen the wall. She looks around the work in progress, envisioning the space that she would soon call her home. A happy family with kids and pets – all would reside there. She could see their smiles, hear their laughs, feel their joy. They would share a lifetime in this house build beautifully.
