As a millennial, I have been a part of multiple trends coming and going. From rotary dial telephone to smartphones, from helping my father to carry heavy monthly groceries from local kirana stores to ordering on grofers, from DD national to Netflix, I have seen it all. I have seen generations decay with time and new generations becoming ultra fast with all the technology and inventions that they are surrounded with. I relate Aditya Birla Group with the millennial generation because just like us it has adapted itself with constant innovation and learning while simultaneously keeping our roots alive. Though Aditya Birla Group is actually as old as the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857, when Seth Shiv Narayan Birla laid the foundation of House of Birla starting with cotton trade, today in 2019, the conglomerate feels just like a 21 year old, full of energy, zeal and zest, contributing to multiple aspects of life, touching millions across the world and unstoppably making the country proud. Today Aditya Birla Group has employed 120,000 people belonging to 42 different nationalities, across 34 different countries. Its products and services include agribusiness, carbon black, cement, chemicals, E- commerce, finance, mining, retail, telecommunications and textile. The impact it has made on lives around the world weather through its products and services or through giving strong careers to its employees or through the CSR activities it has undertaken for the betterment of the country varies from microscopic to gigantic levels. It won’t be wrong to say that Aditya Birla Group is like a wind that blows across the oceans to serve all equally, the wind that people breathe without even realizing it, the wind that blows in the direction of doing good for the underprivileged, the wind that speeds up the process of uplifting India from the status of developing to developed. I remember the first time I realized the impact of Aditya Birla Group in my life when my grandfather did not allow my father to buy any cement other than UltraTech, no matter how better a deal we were getting through the local vendor. His words are still imprinted in my memory “As a middle class family, this might be our only shot at making our own house. You don’t want to live in a home that doesn’t promise to stay strong for your lifetime. Do you?” Today I realize, it was not about the cement that we used, it was the trust my grandfather had in the brand. Coming from a family that religiously works in several NGOs, I relate and support its value of sustainable development, its attempt develop the rural areas through its community initiatives and rural development programs.  As I write this essay, I realize I live in an eco system that is built by this group.  From checking my first message using my IDEA connection, to wearing an ALLEN SOLLY suit to my B-school seminars, to going for my favourite drive on the Worli sea-link, built with UltraTech cement, whenever I feel low, Aditya Birla Group has a presence in everything I do and everything I aspire to do. That is what makes Aditya Birla Group BIG IN MY LIFE. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
