The most unique thing about my college campus is that it is the only campus in the country which houses both an IIM and an IIT. To add to that, we also have a GEC. So, in all there are 3 elite colleges in the same campus:
- Indian Institute of Management, Raipur
- Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai
- Government Engineering College, Raipur
This unique combination of colleges has created a wonderful environment in the campus. During off-class timings, people from all colleges usually gather around the common spaces. This provides a great opportunity to build budding entrepreneurs. The management skills of an IIM graduate and the technical skills of an IIT graduate when combined, will definitely create a phenomenal team.
For IIM Raipur, the academic block, the administration block, and the hostels are in the same building. It serves us great whenever we are late. It hardly takes any time to reach the classes.
Our class dress code is formals. Most of the other IIMs do not have any dress code. When I got to know about this dress code rule, I felt that it was quite unnecessary. But when I reached here, I realized that it is important as there is just one building for all the activities and it will not give a good impression to the visiting corporate leaders or recruiters to see us roaming around in shorts or T-shirts. Also, wearing formals is becoming a habit now. So, we won’t be finding it difficult once we transform from students to corporate managers or leaders.
So, in this way, IIM Raipur campus is quite unique and I hope it becomes more distinguished once we move to our new campus.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
I would love to work for Aditya Birla Capital Limited(ABCL). ABCL is one of the largest financial services companies in India. It delivers a wide range of money solutions for protecting, investing and financing its customers. I have a keen interest in the field of finance. Finance as a field offers a fast-paced, continuously challenging career. Working at ABCL will also give me the opportunity to benefit from structured training and development opportunities which have been tried and tested throughout their long history and help me turn into a great professional. Therefore, ABCL will be the best fit for me.
