A memorable classroom experience at IIM Trichy A memorable classroom experience is something that one cherishes for a very long time. It is primarily because that experience either taught him something or some incident happened during the session which leaves an impression. The feeling of returning to classroom after a span of few years is surreal. One becomes nostalgic about the college and school days but at the same time reminds him of the rigor, academics that lay ahead. The first class that a student attends at any institute always remains a special one close to heart no matter if it was good or bad. My memorable classroom experience is the first class which I attended at IIM Trichy. When I entered the classroom, I could see the nameplates on the seats. It gave me goosebumps. The passion to be a part of IIM family was something which occupied my mind during the preparation days and seeing the nameplate gave me immense joy and pleasure but at the same time reminded me of the rigour which lay ahead for 2 years. In the first class, the professor began by reminding us of the academic rigour that we would be facing in the coming days. Then he conducted a small experimental game where he divided us into groups of 8. He put out questions one by one and the group members responded to those questions by writing down the answers and passing on to the next person with their answers hidden. At the end of the questions, we were asked to read the sequence of answers which the respective groups had written. And the outcome was hilarious. There were instances from the storylines from various groups where Sachin Tendulkar had gone on a valentine’s day date with Mila Kunis to Barack Obama meeting Indira Gandhi in space. The outcomes were hilarious. In spite of that, there were some underlying messages which the professor wanted to portray through this small and hilarious activity. First and foremost was the importance of teamwork and communication between team members for efficient functioning and bringing a proper outcome. The second was the importance of cohesion and clarity of thought that one must have while expressing oneself. And third was the importance of having a purpose and direction while responding to someone or writing something. The classroom experience made me realize that the learning in the classroom in IIM Trichy is an interactive way and not just a delivery of a lecture. Students and teachers participate in all sorts of discussions on a variety of topics to enhance the understanding and visualization of the curriculum of the students.   Which ABG company would you like to work for and why? The ABG company I would like to work for is Aditya Birla Capital. It is one of India’s largest financial services conglomerates. The passion and purpose of the company to its customers and the work culture among the employees makes it a standout choice among the companies in the Financial sector.
