A memorable classroom experience would be the presentation sessions we had and the output or the suggestions that came forward.
It was just like another session and as usual feeling like skipping those but can’t cause they hold some significance which I didn’t understand till then however as usual while going to the session these thoughts came up. Yet ignored these and followed the seniors like an obedient fellow. But probably I would consider this decision of not missing the session as an important one as one of the suggestions that came up was how to fight the battle of depression.
Working towards fighting mental stigma and this is something that doesn’t get addressed in most of the B school which is a common phenomenon to arise when you study along with some of the brightest minds in the country. The idea was to address these issues and help students deal with it. A student also stood up about his mental stigma and that gave me an insight into how open the culture is at IIM Raipur and how accepting people are towards it. Mental health issues can arise at any given point and anywhere but the students coming up with an initiative to conduct counselling sessions and form a group of people interested in starting something of this sort was my first memorable moment at IIM Raipur and after which I hope there are many more to come.
Which ABG company would you want to work for?
I would want to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited as an Operations Manager as the clothing outreach for ABG has a huge market potential and understanding the market and the operation implications involved on how they manage to cater to such a huge market demand.
From having an online presence to catering to different market segments with a different brand and not just product lines is something I would want to learn about. How to operate for such a huge range of products and still maintain operational excellence overall.
