My memorable classroom experience happened in the Business Communications class. This was the very first communications class in IIM Raipur. The professor made us into groups and asked us to give a sales pitch on any fictional product. My group mates were myself, Madan, Kaushal, Prateep, Isha, and Kranthi. We discussed various products and came up with the idea of a product that would reduce the effect of alcohol. We named it “Hang over-O” which is the short form of a hangover is over. We discussed how to present the product effectively. some members of the group prepared some handouts for advertisement.we created a small illustration of the product with instructions written on it. We came up with an idea for a skit as an advertisement before starting the sales pitch. I chose to act like a drunk guy with hang-over. So I poured little water on my shirt, un-tucked my shirt in such a way that half of my shirt was out while the other half was tucked-in. Then I messed up my hairstyle a little, put some water near my mouth, folded my hand sleeves. I looked like I walked to class straight from sleep. My friend Nivedhan who was sitting in the different group saw me and mistook that I didn't take a bath. He called me and said to at least comb my hair and tuck-in my shirt. I told him that it was for the sales pitch. The thinking time was over and the professor called the first group guys who performed well. Then it was our turn and I was very nervous. But I picked up courage went on the stage, slept on the table like a drunk guy. Everyone laughed. My friend Madan came next to me and started the skit by asking me to wake up. I acted like a drunk guy saying random this like “Kyaa resetting ah?” which was a reference to a Tamil movie “Kaala”.He then shook me. I woke up and asked, “how are you so sober while I am having to hang over”.He then said “Why to suffer when Hang-Over O is here” with the illustration in his hand. The sales pitch began Madan gave a very good sales pitch explaining about our product and its uses. During question time we were bombarded with many questions but we managed them. This will be a memorable memory in my MBA life which I will remember for the rest of my life as “The Drunk guy” even though I am a teetotaller. ABG Group company that I would love to work for The ABG company I would love to work for is Ultratech Cement. Ultratech Cement is the largest exporter of cement in India. It will be a great honor to work with such a prestigious company. Since it also operates in various other countries like UAE, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka I hope to learn and interact with different people from different countries.
