"Life is like a cup of tea... It's all in how you make it..." Like-wise extempore is like is a cup of tea, "it's all in how you make it" until you forget or are unable to remember the topic. Welcome to my memorable classroom experience in IIM Raipur. It was the seventh preparatory class of communication. Just like the prior six classes, we had to perform various activities either individually or in a group to improve our communication skills. I was eager to know which activity we will be performing, it came out that its extempore day for us. Undesirably my roll number was 2 and so does my turn to speak. First roll number went, nicely expressed her thoughts, points to be improved were suggested by the professor, everyone clapped, she returned and next to her I went calm and composed. The topic that was given to me fortunately or unfortunately was "Is compulsory attendance really needed in colleges?". I was familiar with the topic. So, I started speaking, there was a time when I didn't know exactly what point I was expressing but I ended my speech nicely with my opinion. Everyone clapped, few improvements were suggested to me by the professor and I returned to my place. One thing that needs to pointed out was that we were clapping for everyone, it was not like we did great, although it was motivating. The class kept on going and each student shared his/her opinion on different topics. Some topics were light and some were serious like, "Why smiles are contagious?" and "Kashmir issue – can it be solved?". Then came a very serious issue. One batchmate went and the topic given to him was of 2-3 lines. The topic was easy to understand but hard to remember. I thought how will he start speaking when he is unable to remember the topic given and not only him but also none of us were able to remember the topic given. Then the professor repeated the topic and all of us were trying to catch the words of the topic but none succeeded. Then we started whispering into others ear asking for 'what the topic is?', some were smiling and some were giggling with amazement. In the end, the professor changed his extempore topic and the class continued. There are many memorable classroom moments but it's important to remember the topic of extempore because "life is like a tea..., it's all in how you make it!". Which ABG company I would like to work in and why? The ABG company I want to work in is Grasim Industries Limited. I would like to explore this industry which serves globally and believe it will give me good experience in my career start. I want to major in Human Resources and in Grasim I expect to get an opportunity to handle projects for different background and domain, it will me grow personally and professionally. With a rich background of the company and a mixture of excellent people, I would get to learn a lot which would help me in later in my career. Ishwar Singh Rawat is a first year student at IIM Raipur.
