I have had the opportunity to work on projects with Ultratech cement Ltd. and Hindalco Industries Ltd., when I was working as a Sales Engineer at ELGi Equipment’s Ltd. Having visited the Hindalco Taloja Plant many times, and witnessed the safety and quality standards of the Aditya Birla group company, makes this brand take a special position in my life. Freshwrapp, which Hindalco Industries Ltd. manufactures, is something that is always present in my kitchen and used for a lot of purposes from storing to wrapping food. Ultratech cement and Birla White are the products that I look up to whenever there is a need for procurement for house repair related product. I also have a small portion of my family savings invested in Aditya Birla Mutual Fund and I am quite satisfied with service and the excellent returns that the fund has generated. There is no shopping that is complete without visiting Pantaloons and checking out the awesome products it has to offer. Idea kept me connected with my family when I was down south in Coimbatore for 6 months for my training period at ELGi Equipment’s Ltd. Aditya Birla has created an entire ecosystem around me and millions around the world with the wide variety of great products it offers thus playing a big role in everyday life.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far ?
I would describe myself as a mediocre person who has always put in the extra effort, to achieve my dreams. When I was preparing for my Std. 10
th Board exams, my father fell very sick and had to be hospitalized. I still remember those days where I had to manage school, taking care of my younger sister, visiting my father, while coping with the pressure of the upcoming Board exams. I managed to handle the situation well and make my parents proud by scoring an 86.36%. The challenges never ended there, but the situations kept on making me tougher and better as an Individual. I was diagnosed with “Dengue and Typhoid”, a month before my Final Year Engineering exams. I couldn’t study for 2 weeks due to hospitalization, and I also had to miss my college unit tests exams. I had to perform exceptionally well in the Engineering main exams to compensate for the college exams that I had just missed. I managed to do well and ended my Engineering degree on a high with an aggregate CGPA of 8.64. The key learnings that I took from the challenges that I faced was to make the best use of time and opportunity available at hand and to create an impact, irrespective of the challenges I face. When I was working as a GET at ELGi Equipment’s Ltd., Dr. Tumkur Guruprasad (DGM Planning - ELGi Equipment’s Ltd.) called me and asked me whether I would like to work with him on a paper on Responsive supply chain. I grabbed the opportunity with both hands, and put in the Hard work and dedication after my office hours, and finally got selected to present a paper on Responsive supply chain titled “Planning without Plan” at IIM Bangalore.
