Having lived in Mumbai all my life, I had always known the Mahindra Towers as one of the most prominent official spaces in the city. So, it was naturally very exciting for me to have the opportunity to work at the same place as a part of my Summer Internship. As a part of the prestigious Group Management Cadre at Mahindra and Mahindra, the first three days were planned for our induction. The days were filled with interactive sessions with the heads of various sectors that are a part of the Mahindra group. The wide variety of businesses that are a part of Mahindra right from the Auto Farm Sector to Mahindra Holidays were introduced to us.
It would be an understatement to say that the GMC team really pampered us. Right from the lavish meals to giving us amazing goodies, they made sure we all feel comfortable in the new setting. There were several ice breaker sessions to ensure that the environment was light hearted and we had fun too! Right from the tissue paper game to the different board games, each activity was super fun and only ensured that we bond together as a part of the Mahindra family.
I was one of the lucky interns who had her birthday on the second day of the induction, where the team had planned a visit to the Gateway Office in Colaba, where Mr. Anand Mahindra himself had a conversation with all the GMC interns. After that was done, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cake waiting for me and a high tea organised for all the interns!
After that was done, we all went to Marine Drive to see the setting sun, and indeed it turned out to be a special day.
For the third day of our induction, we all had to go to the Kandivali office which houses the Auto Farm Sector (the largest sector of Mahindra and Mahindra). Probably the most exciting session was taken up by the Marketing team where they explained to us the different strategies used by them to cater to different audiences that their products catered to.
On the last day of the first week, we finally joined our respective work places and started with our projects. It was really endearing to see how much the senior leaders take interest even in the smallest suggestions that we have, and motivate us towards success.
Now, in my second week, surrounded by highly intellectual and warm people I hope to achieve my targets as to the project is concerned in the coming weeks and hope to assimilate all the knowledge that this mighty firm has to offer.
