I got placed in Odessa Technologies for my summer internship. Being a fresher it was my first corporate experience and I loved every bit of it. Having a finance background really helped me in preparing for the group discussions and interviews. The first year of MBA helped me a lot in preparing for my interviews. My first touch point to know the company better was their website. It gave me a good understanding of Odessa's line of business and its products. I interned as a Business Analyst during my stint in Odessa. Odessa Technologies, a software company, develops on demand leasing software solutions for equipment and vehicle leasing and finance, and fleet management companies worldwide. It is committed to helping businesses meet the challenges of an ever-evolving leasing environment with the most advanced solutions available anywhere. It is based in Philadelphia with its major operations in Bangalore. LeaseWave is the main product offered by Odessa. My internship was had two primary phases- training and project. Odessa prides itself on the program in place to groom new recruits into project- ready professionals for accelerated deployment onto projects. During the training phase, I was sensitised about the dynamics of the leasing software business at Odessa and trained on Microsoft SQL server. The training included a basic understanding of coding used by the BAs and an understanding of their product LeaseWave. The project phase comprised of on the job training and deliverable. As a Business Analyst intern, I contributed towards understanding the requirements of the client and how it would impact the various accounts associated with it. My work primarily included analysing the requirements, doing impact analysis, going through functional specifications to understand the current functionality and better tract the impacted modules. Over the eight weeks, I have had  great learning experience. Odessa is a technology company with heart. As individuals and as a company, we have the spirit of service. I got an opportunity to be a part of the Odessa family and fill in as a Business Analyst and enable Odessa to create and convey a robust product to its client.  Odessa has a flat organisation structure and follows an open door policy. Jay Mehra, the CTO and one of the founding members sits with all the other employees which was something different abut the company. Odessa has the culture where interns are assigned with a buddy and a mentor. The buddy is the one who we addressed all our queries to and who made it easy for us to blend in the company's culture. My buddy was Kunal who was the most easy person to work under. He was also a Business Analyst and had been working in the company for around two years. Since we were almost the same age it was easier to approach him without any inhibitions. He was supportive and very enthusiastic about the work which made me feel the same about it. Overall, I loved my internship and made acquaintance with amazing people and would love to go back as a full time employee.
