IIM Rohtak is the only IIM situated in the Delhi National Capital Region (Delhi NCR) of India. Needless to mention is the myriad of diverse companies which are present in the vast NCR region of India, including the likes of automotive industries, FMCG, Consultancy firms, BFSI, PSUs, etc. The Institute recently shifted to its Permanent Campus. IIM Rohtak is the first IIM and only IIM so far to have started a 2-year course on Sports Management (Source). This IIM of the North is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. IIM Kashipur is situated in close proximity to an Industrial belt of Rudrapur and Pantnagar, which comprises of about 180+ renowned Companies, added with the moderate temperatures almost round the year due to the location. IIM Kashipur was one of the first new IIMs to move to its Permanent Campus, followed by the others. Situated in one of the rapidly growing smart cities of the country, IIM Raipur is blessed to be in close proximity to the natural forest reserves of Chhattisgarh as well as the modern industrial and educational hub of Raipur, which also houses NIT Raipur and AIIMS Raipur. IIM Raipur leads the pack in terms of the number of Student Exchange Partner Universities, which might even be at par with older IIMs.
If one wishes to explore the remote tribal areas of Chhattisgarh and closely view their way of life along with their art, craft in addition to important historical places and jungle safaris, one might as well look no further than Raipur. The city of lakes or, Udaipur, needs no introduction. Udaipur is a world famous and one of the busiest tourist destination in India, known for its lakes, majestic forts and now, the IIM in Balicha. IIMU is the only new IIM offering a residential 1-year PGPX Program (in collaboration with Purdue University, USA) similar to the PGPX or EPGP (terminologies might vary) programmes offered by older IIMs.
IIMU is also the only one among the new IIMs to offer a special International program called Summer School for Future Leaders (in collaboration with Duke University, USA; Uppsala University, Sweden; various Indian NGOs) to train young managers to deal with contemporary socio-political challenges. The campus on hills also mirrors the picturesque forts and palaces of Rajasthan.

IIM Ranchi is situated in the mineral-rich state of Jharkhand and Ranchi is incidentally the hometown of MS Dhoni, one of the most illustrious captains of the Indian Cricket Team. IIM Ranchi enjoys good relations with a plethora of heavy industries located in the state of Jharkhand. IIM Ranchi is the first and only IIM so far to have a dedicated 2-year full-time programme PGDHRM specializing in HR courses. Till the construction of their permanent campus is complete, IIM Ranchi students currently reside in the flats built for hosting the athletes of the 2011 National Games, which is as good as the single occupancy rooms of the Permanent Campuses of other IIMs.
For HR enthusiasts, as well as ones who wish explore the tribal areas and other picturesque places of Jharkhand, IIM Ranchi might be a good option to choose.
It may be worth noting that IIM Udaipur, Tiruchirappalli and Kashipur have featured among the top 20 B-Schools in India as per NIRF 2018 rankings.

The fame of the holy city of Amritsar in Punjab is spread around the globe, not just for the Golden Temple (one of the most sacred places of pilgrimage of the Sikhs), but also for Jallianwala Bagh, Wagah Border, Amritsari fish and kulchas, and of course, the IIM Amritsar. Currently, IIM Amritsar is being mentored by IIM Kozhikode. IIM Amritsar benefits from the great national and international air connectivity offered by the Amritsar Airport and has seen rapid growth in terms of placements packages.
IIM Amritsar also focuses heavily on the application of management concepts on the field, which is evident from the projects the students undertake to improvise the supply chain of the Golden Temple langar, helping resolve the crop burning issue in Punjab and many more.

IIM Sirmaur is located in the lap of the mighty Himalayan Mountains, on the banks of river Yamuna, near Paonta Sahib, a major industrial town which is also famous for Paonta Sahib Gurudwara, a holy place for the Sikhs. Currently, IIM Lucknow mentors IIM Sirmaur. IIM Sirmaur offers a unique International Immersion Programme (IIP) - a hands-on project-based study experience to learn deeply about the best industrial practices, tenets of international business and a practical viewpoint of global business practices as prevalent in Europe.

The newest IIM situated in Jammu is currently mentored by IIM Lucknow. Jammu is an important religious pilgrimage stead in India, as it houses Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. IIM Jammu will benefit in the coming years due to its location. Since Jammu is being established as an important educational hub of J&K as it is the only city in India to house 3 major Institutes of National Importance - IIT Jammu, IIM Jammu and AIIMS Jammu, in addition to it being well connected to major airports of India.

IIM Nagpur can be considered to be situated almost in the Centre of India. The Orange city of India is a bustling metropolis with an airport, an almost developed Metro, home to Institutes of National Importance like IIM-N, NIT-N, AIIMS-N, NPTI, NIPER, IIIT-N etc. as well as a plethora of manufacturing and services based industries. Nagpur is the third largest Metropolis in Maharashtra after Mumbai and Pune.
IIM Nagpur also has an international immersion programme and quite recently, the students of IIM-N visited Japan to learn about the best practices present in the Japanese manufacturing industry, made famous by Toyota. Interestingly, IIMN is focusing heavily on Entrepreneurship and Research through its InFED (IIMN Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development programme). Visakhapatnam is one of the fastest growing cities in India located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal in Andhra Pradesh. The City has an active and expanding airport and seaport to cater to several industries in the near vicinity of Visakhapatnam, ranging from food processing industry, metal and metallurgical industry, services industry, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and many more industries. IIMV will immensely benefit from its location in the coming years. IIMV is currently mentored by IIM Bangalore.
