The Australian parliament is the first parliament to celebrate International Yoga Day, as several lawmakers performed asanas, including former Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
- After Delhi CM's Request For Complete Statehood, CM of Puducherry Follows Suite:
CM Narayansami urged the Union Government to consider full statehood for Puducherry at a meeting of the NITI Aayog governing council.
- Anukreethy Vas Crowned Miss India 2018:
Anukreethy is the winner of the 55th Femina Miss India Awards, and hails from Tamil Nadu. She is 19-years old and is a second-year student at Loyola College, Chennai.
- Pakistan Reportedly Has More Nuclear Warheads Than India:
Pakistan has 10-20 more warheads than India, as per the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). China has double the number of nuclear warheads, while the US and Russia have over 6000 nuclear warheads, accounting for 92% of the world's total count.
- CM Mehbooba Mufti Resigns, BJP Withdraws From PDP-BJP Coalition:
CM Mufti resigned from the post after the Bharatiya Janta Party withdrew from the coalition. BJP state-in-charge cited Mehbooba Mufti's inability to control deterioration of law and order in J&K as the primary reason for withdrawal from the coalition.
In related news - As a result of the resignation of CM Mufti, the state of J&K will come under the Governer's (N.N. Vohra) rule. This is the 4th time the state has come under the Governer's rule.

The memorial will be constructed at Villers Guislain, to honour the valour of Indian soldiers who lost their lives in WW-I.
- India's Neighbours Spend More On Health:
Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives spend more on health than India, according to the National Health Profile of 2018. On an average, these countries spend 1.4% of their GDP on health, while India spends 1% of its GDP on health.
- AR Rahman To Be Brand Ambassador Of Sikkim:
The Academy award winner will promote the state's achievements both nationally and internationally. This move has been made to increase the inflow of tourism in Sikkim.

NITI Aayog has ranked Rajasthan as no.1 in water conservation due to an increase in groundwater levels. Rajasthan has a lot of joharas, tankas, and man-made lakes which help in water conservation. The Rajasthan government also uses technology such as geo-tagging and drones to manage water conservation.
