Though all the days spent in this college were intriguing in their own ways, the one which was the most peculiar was my first day in college. The day I got my offer letter from NMIMS Mumbai, I got very complacent regarding my future because the mindset which I’d developed during the time I was preparing for MBA was that if I manage to get into a premier b-school then henceforth everything will be a cakewalk.
But when I entered the college and got acquainted with some people, I realized that almost everyone here was having a work-ex from multinationals such as KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y etc. And me being a fresher from an engineering background, seeing all these people around me, I felt very intimidated. Almost drenched completely in sweat, all of us entered the auditorium and this was the first time I saw all the 600 of us in the same auditorium. So after this sight, all the complacency which I’d developed during a course of time vanished completely and I was back to square one. That very moment I realized that If I don’t show diligence from my side then those students who berate their respective colleges on platforms such as Quora or Facebook just because they couldn’t achieve anything in college, I’ll end up being one of those people.
After this self-introspection, there came a moment when Mr Vighnesh Shahane addressed us and talked about things like creating your brand value, add a single page to the novel of your life every day and to up our game. Though I’d seen a myriad number of inspirational videos before on youtube, the things Mr Shahane talked about were so cogent and were delivered at such a crucial time it left a very profound impact on me and I’m sure on many people who were present there. Because sometimes it’s not the content that matters the most but the time it is delivered to you leaves a more everlasting impact.
Then after the introductory day got over, I decided to meander around in the college for a bit and experienced which almost every one of us who studies here has experienced, the campus felt nothing less than a 5-star hotel, it was nothing less than a magnum opus. After this first day experience of NMIMS I couldn’t resist myself from uploading a picture and bragging about it on social media but to my astonishment, the first location it showed was neither NMIMS nor Mithibai but Anand Dosa Centre. Thus, this is how my day ended starting from getting intimidated and ended up being startled by the amount of money Anand Dosawala is able to make.
Which ABG Company would you want to work for and why?
Since the first day I was keen on pursuing a career in the finance sector, so if I’d get an opportunity to join any Aditya Birla group company, the company precedent over everyone would be Aditya Birla Capital which is the holding company for all financial service businesses of Adtiya Birla group of companies, which through its various subsidiaries is in the business of life insurance, asset management, corporate finance and many more.
