An MBA student’s life is undeniably hectic. With lots of coursework, readings, assignments, projects, and preparation for placements, it often gets challenging to track all the activities. The only way to work efficiently and meet all the deadlines is to keep everything organized in one place and make changes to your schedule with ease. The process of organizing your work should be seamless and should not add to your already hectic workload. Online learning brings along new problems that need to be dealt with. While institutes are taking great efforts to make online learning seamless, it has become more challenging to keep track of activities and deadlines without getting constant reminders from people around you.
Notion - the all-in-one tool for online learning
Ever since online classes began, I was on a quest to find a tool to organize all my college activities in one place. In the beginning, I experimented with several different applications – like Calendar for deadlines, Planner for tasks and activities, OneNote for taking notes, and so on. The downside of this was that it soon got complicated to manage different activities since everything was scattered across different platforms. Then I started using Notion. Notion is like an all-in-one workspace for all the things you might want to keep track of as part of your online education. It is a productivity tool that helps you organize your class notes, syllabus, timetables, deadlines, and much more in a single place. The best part of it was that it is free for students and contains several templates that you can use to make the whole task of organizing go smoothly.
Some useful templates for students
Notion for Students can be downloaded from
here.
After installation, you can use a number of templates to set up your basic workstation.
The class notes template can be used to track all your notes, additional readings, and other material related to online classes. You can segregate your notes based on subjects and maintain them like you would in an actual notebook.
The Course Schedule template provides a thorough list of topics for readings, assignments, and exams, and helps you keep track of all your deadlines. You can create your categories and subjects and arrange them as per your convenience.
The Job applications template allows you to track all the companies you have applied to for internships or placements and any deadlines associated with them. You can also choose to organize them by stage or view deadlines on the calendar.
The Planner or To-Do template can be used for keeping track of all your day to day activities and the stage of completion for each. It uses a Kanban-style board (similar to Trello), where you can track work in different stages.
Apart from these, there are many free templates online that you can incorporate depending on your requirements. Having a clean and organized schedule is the first step towards a rewarding college experience, and the right tools and technologies can go a long way in helping you get there.
