One of the most difficult situations I had to overcome in my life was changing my perception towards ‘challenges’. As far as I can remember, I always perceived challenges as a hindrance to my success. And I believe that most of us also struggle with the same thing. My attitude towards this perception changed when I read this book called, “The Power of your Subconscious Mind.” The book beautifully illustrates challenges as just a mere negative thought in your mind. Further it adds on by saying that one must see challenges as opportunities. Challenges and opportunities go hand in hand and you must overcome challenges to set new milestones. Over the period of time, when I started analyzing my approach towards it, I realized that an opportunity was indeed waiting right there in front of me, wrapped tightly in a gift paper with challenge on the outside. When I started approaching it in this way, I realized that the same challenges now acted as a stepping stones to my success.
Apart from this, I have also struggled with the power of believing in yourself. I think that if you don’t believe in yourself then no one will. It’s a mantra I keep repeating to myself over and over again until it gets etched in my mind. Growing up, I have received a lot of criticism on this. I know that convincing someone to believe in themselves is much easier than actually applying it in your own life. Often at times, people need that positive nudge to keep them going. The one thing I’ve learned is that everybody has it tough but ultimately it’s all on how you choose to handle it; whether you attempt to learn from your experiences or seize new opportunities. Carpe Diem!
