We are delighted to inform you that Subham Sinha from TAS Summers Batch 2020 has been declared the National Winner of the coveted Business Standard Best B-School Projects Award. Subham will also receive a cash prize of INR 100,000, a trophy and a certificate as part of his winning experience. He interned with Tata AIG GIC during his TAS summer internship and initiated his project on categorising employees into 3 categories basis a range of high risk behaviour to low risk behaviour.
The panel of judges consisted of Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan, Founder, Chairman, CEO of Rediff, Mr. Ambi Parameswaran, Founder - Brand-Building, Mr. Rajat Gupta, Leader - McKinsey Global Energy and Mr. Rajkamal Vempati, Head of Human Resources - Axis Bank with Mr. Lloyd Pinto, President - HR, CG Power and Industrial Solutions.
In his conversation with the TAS office, Subham stated, “If i must describe my experience as a TAS intern in 3 words, it would be - Invigorating, Stimulating and Meticulous. I was absolutely thrilled when TAS assigned me to work as a summer intern in Tata AIG GIC. The project assigned to me was really close to my heart - Using Data Analytics to predict attrition of employees.
Despite the constraints of a virtual internship, the TAS team and TATA AIG has been welcoming, supportive and has provided me numerous opportunities to understand businesses. The internship kept me engaged and provided me an access to a plethora of online courses along with giving me the opportunity to interact with the leaders. I was actually working closely with the CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer) and Vice President - HR at TATA AIG.
At the risk of sounding like a nerd, using statistics, and getting to ‘play with the data’ was exhilarating. I got to know about the importance of feasibility of any business decision and now have a more holistic view of the corporate world. This was the core of my presentation when i presented at the finals of Business Standard Best B-School Project Award 2020. I knew my project in detail and that gave me the confidence to answer the jury. I think this first-hand experience of working on a project and confidence was necessary for bagging the first position in a National competition.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the TAS team, my mentor whose continuous attention to detail astonishes me, my guide who always made sure that I was on the right track and everyone who has been a part of my journey. This has been an amazing experience and I’ll be cherishing this for a long time”.
The TAS team congratulates Subham on winning this title and wishes him the very best as he embarks on a new journey.
Way to go and more to come!
