Summer Internship Experience sharing contest results!

The biggest compliment our participants for the Summer Saga contest can possibly get is judges saying that they learnt a lot from them by going through these internship experiences. The amount of detailing and in-depth description really impressed the judges. They also believe that the new batch should go through these experiences before applying to companies and even before starting internships.  It will help them make the most out of their internship. Judges also believe it will help companies get an insight into how interns see their internship experience and may help design their structure better.  Overall it is a win for everyone!

It was a tough task to decide as well! Too many close calls but we had to choose the top 5!  Before we jump into the results, meet our judges.

Tejas Dave

It was an unanimous choice. Prateek Jain from FMS Delhi has won the 1st InsideIIM.com Summer Saga contest. Prateek interned with Sony Entertainment Television and managed to impress all our judges. He also had a very decent vote count to help him in the 20% component.

Prateek wins Rs. 15,000 cash prize for winning this competition!

You can read Prateek's winning entry here

Here is what the Judges had to say about his entry :

Amit Mehta, Learning and Development Manager, Hindustan Unilever - "Fantastic way to share experience. Very practical insights, talks about the trick of delegation."

Tejas Dave, Consultant at Booz & Co. - "Prateek seems to have had a great opportunity to get his hands dirty. Important to note that work won't happen only because it has been delegated to someone or because they are supposed to do it. Prateek was fortunate to find this out early on in the internship. Serves as a good guide"

Kunj Sanghvi, Senior Manager- Marekting, CNBC Awaaz - "Great details of life as an intern. Explains what you need to do to impress and what companies do to impress. Very useful for aspirants"

Our runner-up is Biswarup Das  from IIM Udaipur who interned with Cummins in the Supply Chain domain. He wins a cash prize of Rs. 5000

You can read the runner-up entry here

Here is what the Judges had to say about his entry :

Tejas Dave, Consultant at Booz & Co. - "Highlights the reality of work life which is having to hit the ground running from the word go. Biswarup's experience will also help prospective interns prepare for dealing with uncertainty, multiple stakeholders and doing monotonous but important work of documentation."

Kunj Sanghvi, Senior Manager- Marekting, CNBC Awaaz - "Great detailing.  However, the account could have been more personalized and if you are using abbreviations you must explain it so that anyone reading can understand."

Amit Mehta, Learning and Development Manager, Hindustan Unilever - "Very useful insights on how Supply Chain operates in an organization. Highlights the reality of work life which is having to hit the ground running from the word go, dealing with ambiguity, different stakeholders and using structured method/documentation to ensure rigor"

Our 2nd runner-up is Sampada Kanade from Goa Institute of Management. She did an HR internship at one of India's biggest conglomerates. You can read her internship experience here

No. 4 is Sumesh Sekhar from IIFT, Delhi who interned at Edelweiss. You can read his experience here
