Priyanshu Jain, a traditional-minded entrepreneur from Bhavnagar, Gujarat, developed a curiosity about the shipbreaking industry during frequent visits to Alang, the world's largest shipbreaking yard. This curiosity led him to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During the Covid pandemic, he and his younger brother started their own trading firm in Alang before Priyanshu eventually joined SHV Energy Private Limited, a Dutch-based MNC in Kolkata. Through a combination of business experience and employment, he discovered that his passion, aside from cooking, lies in business. To deepen his knowledge and expertise, Priyanshu decided to pursue a Master's in Business Administration from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune.
Priyanshu Jain approaches problem-solving with a proactive mindset and a willingness to seek guidance. In a challenging logistics situation at SHV Energy, he took on the responsibility and, realizing the disorganization, collaborated with stakeholders to design a tracking Excel sheet, significantly improving logistics management. This experience emphasized the importance of seizing spontaneous opportunities for growth and seeking support in difficult situations.
Handling failure, Priyanshu shares his journey from a 7 CGPA in 10th board to scoring 99.54 percentile in SNAP and pursuing post-graduation at SCMHRD, Pune. He emphasizes the significance of embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth, maintaining a positive mindset, and setting realistic goals.
In a difficult ethical decision, Priyanshu discovered PESO regulation violations during a process audit at a plant. Despite a request from the plant manager, he informedally discussed the issue with his manager and handed over the report to the Internal Audit department. This decision reflects his commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in the workplace.
Describing a negotiation situation during his undergraduate years, Priyanshu tackled a budget deficit for a national-level event organizing committee. Through effective communication and resourcefulness, he convinced the college to approve additional funds and implemented cost-saving measures, successfully achieving the event's objectives.
