8 Things That Make IIM Trichy Special

What Makes IIM Trichy Unique? Having completed a year at this institute I can point out a lot of reasons that make IIM Trichy unique both in terms of academics and on the personal front.

1. The faculty at IIM Trichy is exceptional with each having a strong domain expertise. Having said that there are times when there are 3-4 professors of different domains at the same time in our class so that we can get a good overall understanding of cross-functional aspects of any problem.
2. The rigor at IIM Trichy is of the perfect amount. We do not feel bogged down with our academics which has given us an opportunity to explore our interests and take part in various competitions across the country. I myself have taken up some certification courses and doing it along with my MBA
3. The professors are really helpful. When I was doing my internship I could call and ask any professor for their advice and they were willing to help me out. Interaction with the faculty is easier due to a low student-faculty ratio.
4. We are in the permanent campus since August 2017. The campus is spread on a sprawling 175 acres of land and is only 13 kilometers away from the Trichy International Airport. Technologically equipped smart classrooms, elegantly furnished single occupancy air-conditioned hostel rooms, a world-class library, 24x7 Wi-Fi, are some of the noteworthy features of our new campus.
5. The institute has student committees that ensure all the needs of the students are taken care of. They aim at ensuring the well-being of the students during their stay at the institute. We have both academic and non-academic clubs which ensure that the learning experience here is coupled with the adequate amount of extracurricular activities and to have an all-around exposure to all that holds significance for the students.
6. We have a sports complex which helps us to relax after somewhat hectic day. There are a lot of sporting events going on throughout the year at IIM Trichy. Also, we are a part of Inter IIM sports meet which happens once a year.
7. Cultural fests are a norm at IIM Trichy. They are organized at every festival like holi, Diwali, Lohri which makes us feel like home
8. And finally I want to say about the batch at IIM Trichy. Some of them are really brilliant and are willing to help others out. The unity and strength of the batch is commendable.

Which ABG company would I want to work for and
why?

I would like to work for “IDEA CELLULAR LIMITED” which is in the Telecom Sector. Indian telecom sector is going huge changes with the entry of Reliance Jio which has taken significant Market share from other companies. Also, the news of Vodafone-Idea merger has brought in a new chapter in telecom industry. From what I have heard “Idea Cellular limited” is a “Do it Yourself” company which has very less outsourcing functions which will help me learn a lot and gain significant knowledge which will be beneficial in the long run.
