Agribusiness in India: The Market Opportunity
Agribusiness is widely regarded as a vital field. Agriculture accounts for roughly 20.19 percent of the GDP in a developing country like India. It is considered to be the country's economic backbone. It is one of the largest employers in India, as well as many other countries throughout the world.

Agriculture in India has evolved from traditional production to agribusiness, from a narrow focus on inputs to a larger concept that includes input supply, farm machinery, production, food processing, marketing and distribution of farm goods, and other services.

The Need for Agribusiness Management
With Agribusiness Management education, students are equipped to tackle the various challenges that the agricultural industry faces – such as the activities and roles of the government, in the current competitive environment.

To structure and run this sector profitably, good managers are vitally needed. As a result, an MBA in Agribusiness Management has a lot of promise for optimizing agricultural operations. MBA graduates in Agribusiness Management have the power to restructure and build this industry.

Nurturing Excellence in Food and Agribusiness Management
Providing a balanced mix of managerial skills and domain knowledge in agriculture and allied sciences has always been a challenge for the institutions offering Agribusiness Management (ABM) education. However, of late, few IIMs and a number of autonomous management schools like ISAB and some State Agricultural Universities have taken up this challenge and are imparting quality education along with practical knowledge to the students.

It is critical to integrate the objective of imparting education with hands-on experience. Imperial School of Agri Business (ISAB), a pioneer in the field of Food & Agribusiness, focuses on addressing the agricultural and food processing skill gaps to build skilled professionals who can think and act creatively. The school was co-founded by IIM Ahmedabad and G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar alumnus with the goal of fostering and encouraging excellence in the field of food and agribusiness management. It was ranked among the top 10 Agri-Business Schools in India, according to a recent survey published in Agriculture Today magazine.

The Success Story of ISAB Greater Noida

ISAB has the backing of 300+ agribusiness firms, 20+ industry groups, 10+ international institutions, and government entities to foster industry-relevant pedagogy. ISAB offers a well-experienced panel of 50+ corporate heads, academia, practitioners, researchers, and entrepreneurs for taking courses on contemporary agribusiness topics. The institute has also partnered with Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) for Industry linkages.

The strong industry network also reflects in stellar placements for the batch, with a 100% placement record for Food & Agribusiness students with an average CTC of INR 6 LPA. The institute saw participation from various companies including UPL, Acadian Plant Health, DeHaat, NCML, IB Group, Sonalika, NAFED, DCM Shriram, Mother Dairy, IFCI Ventures, CropIn Tech, Sakhi Dairy, Dhanuka, Absolute Food, Farmgate, CARD, Godrej Agrovet to name a few. Students bagged roles across diverse sectors including Commodity Management, Commodity Trading, Dairy, Finance, AgriTech, Farm Machinery, Poultry and Agri-inputs, which is a testament to the growth story of agri and allied industries in India.

Scholarship Assistance
The institute offers a number of need-based and merit-based scholarships under FAME (Financial Assistance for Meritorious & Economically Weaker Students) of up to INR 3.2 Lakhs. ISAB has provided INR 1.43 crore FAME scholarship to 78 students of 2021-23 batch.

Moreover, selected students can also avail and qualify for mortgage free bank education loan up to INR 7.5 Lakh as per the central government mandate. The institute assisted more than 25 students of 2021-23 batch in availing education loans from various nationalised banks. Special support is also provided to eligible students who are COVID-affected and have defence personnel in their family.

The ISAB Advantage
ISAB promotes pre-class reading and case study based teaching in order to instill decision-making and problem-solving skills. Most of the faculty members hold alumni status from prestigious institutes and have relevant corporate experience, ensuring quality knowledge transfer as per industry requirements.

ISAB's faculty members come from a diverse range of educational and corporate backgrounds which is the university’s USP. The institute is committed to achieve excellence and offering the finest possible service. In the current scenario, India's Green Revolution 2.0 is underway. By guaranteeing strong marketing links and rethinking the farming ecosystem, ISAB is making its students future-ready to alleviate problems across the value chain.

The Scope of Agribusiness
Despite the fact that agriculture employs the majority of the population, the Gross Value Added (GVA) growth rate is low; the agribusiness industry is going to boom because there is enough demand in the market. Over time, FDI stock inflows have increased, resulting in increased investment in technology and human resources. Agriculture exports are also expanding, indicating that the business has a strong future.

However, inadequate marketing and financial facilities, a lack of infrastructure, educated employees, outdated technology, and poor management are all serious obstacles in the agriculture industry. Therefore, agribusiness management may be the answer that everyone in India's mostly unorganized agriculture economy is looking for.

The Wide Gamut of Agri Opportunities in India
India is expected to achieve the ambitious goal of doubling farm income in the near future. Increased investment in agricultural infrastructure, such as irrigation facilities, warehousing, and cold storage, is predicted to boost India's agriculture industry in the coming years.

An MBA in Agribusiness can open multiple doors. Moreover, a career in Agribusiness can also span a multitude of industries, such as agriculture, retail marketing, real estate, food production, food processing, and the agricultural industry. If you are aspiring to craft a secure career in Food and Agribusiness Management, then ISAB should be the best option to look out for!
