Somil's aspirations lie in pursuing a career in finance, which, combined with his CA background, makes him an exceptional prospect for any company seeking a talented recruit. During his time as a member of the Student Development Body, he successfully led and coordinated numerous events, demonstrating his adeptness in managing a cohort of over 150 students.
Somil Shah's standout project during his MBA program involved helping his batch and junior batch by conducting sessions on Finance, covering subjects like Capital Budgeting, Structured Finance, Ratio Analysis, and Project Financing. As the only Chartered Accountant in his batch, he shared his expertise and contributed to the development of his peers.
In terms of leadership development, Somil played a key role in the Student Development Body (The Catalyst Committee) of his institute. Heading multiple events, including the induction of the junior batch, he led a team of 10 members and 15 volunteers. This experience provided him with valuable leadership skills and instilled confidence in his ability to lead teams efficiently.
Somil plans to leverage his MBA skills, particularly in Finance, to become the go-to finance professional for a company. With a mix of technical, fundamental, and conceptual skills, he aims to navigate financial challenges successfully.
His preferred industry is Finance, and he aspires to work in Investment Banking. His internship experience at Barclays Bank, where he received recognition for excellent work and was acknowledged by his reporting manager, positions him as a good fit for an Investment Banking role.
Somil's approach to teamwork emphasizes clarity of roles, contributing to the success of events and collaborative efforts. His leadership in the Catalyst Committee and successful induction of the junior batch reflect his commitment to effective teamwork.
He believes he deserves recognition as one of the Most Employable MBA Graduates - Class of 2024 due to his accomplishments, including securing a rare opportunity in the IB sector for his summer internship, receiving the highest stipend in the country for his internship role, and actively contributing to events in the college committee and Finance Club.
