Souradeep Ghosh, a Kolkata native and a graduate in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from IIEST Shibpur, embarked on a daring journey after completing his education. Accepting a challenging role as a Quality Engineer at Cairn Oil and Gas, located in a remote area near the Pakistan Border, he led a team of 15+ workers in 24X7 operations, gaining significant professional and personal experiences outside his comfort zone. Beyond his professional pursuits, Souradeep enjoys cricket and baking cakes, sharing his creations to spread happiness. In 2022, he successfully tackled the academic challenges of CAT and XAT, securing admissions into prestigious institutions such as IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, XLRI, FMS, and SPJIMR. Currently, Souradeep is pursuing his MBA at IIM Bangalore, shaping a promising future for himself.

An example involves resolving a pipeline leakage issue, where he employed a Fishbone Diagram and collaborative brainstorming to identify the root cause—excessive chlorine content. The team implemented a 24x7 production process control plan and corrective measures, showcasing the value of teamwork, perseverance, and meticulous data analysis.
Facing failures in academics and exams, Souradeep views setbacks as opportunities for growth. Learning from experiences, he adopted a resilient approach, leading to successful outcomes in subsequent attempts. His key lesson is to see failures objectively, focusing on improvement step by step.
In an ethical workplace dilemma, Souradeep stood against a deviation from safety standards in pipe testing. Despite facing resistance, he escalated the issue to higher management, prioritizing safety over project schedules. This experience reinforced his commitment to ethical practices.
Negotiating with stakeholders, Souradeep shares an experience from his role as a placement representative. Addressing concerns from professors about signing an MOU for student recruitment, he initiated discussions, involving all stakeholders, and reached a mutually beneficial agreement.
