Purwal Mahadik
Summer Intern, AB InBev

I have always been inclined towards the creative end of the spectrum with a logical bent of mind. Having studied mass media with a specialization in advertising during graduation, I have always been intrigued by what makes a consumer chose one product over another. Also, while I was preparing from CAT, I stuck a cord with data interpretation. This led me to pursue a post-graduate diploma in data science along with my MBA from SDA Bocconi Asia Center. Number crunching and deciphering patterns have been my area of interest when it comes to data handling. In recent times, AbinBev has made huge investments in integrating data analytics and cloud computing with their processes in order to derive a competitive advantage across the brewing industry. This aligns very well with my interests and hence I left no stone unturned while appearing for ABinBev internship process. On a personal front, I have been an enthusiastic consumer of beer and I very well understand the inns and out of the industry from the demand side of the product. Hence, I believe working with ABinbev will provide me with an opportunity to deliver out of the box ideas at the workplace.

Mansi Bansal
Research & Insights Intern, Deloitte

Coming from a commerce background and working in a consultancy firm for 2 years, I have become an analytical person by nature. My approach to a problem is the same way I approach life, that is by paying attention to details. Summer's experience is colossal in building the foundation of practical knowledge and skills required to survive and thrive in this market, which is why I wanted to work for a firm that provides me that platform. Working at Deloitte is about being one step ahead which is a principle I have adapted in life. As soon as I started my IMB program, I looked for different and challenging opportunities to enhance my skill sets. Talking about the Personal Interview, all Deloitte expects from you, is to be true to yourself and show the calibre to become a future leader, to help bring a positive change in the world. Summer Internship at Deloitte is a dream come true for me and it will be a major learning experience working amidst the best of the best. I really look forward to it.

Arunima Lal
Summer Intern, ICICI Bank

Soon after graduating in commerce from the prestigious Delhi University, I cleared the IBPS PO exam and started working as a Deputy Manager with a public sector Bank. Three years into my banking career which also included the period of demonetisation, I developed a deep understanding of the banking industry. It was then I realized that I wanted to diversify my financial knowledge and get into corporate finance. ICICI Bank was my dream company to intern at and hence I started preparing for the process in advance. I started my preparation by brushing basic financial concepts and eventually moved on to advanced readings related to corporate finance. I also developed an understanding about contemporary economic issues across the globe which made for a good talking point during my interview. I believe it was my love for finance and passion to learn more about the industry that sailed me through the entire process and landed me with an internship from ICICI Bank.

Bharat Mehrotra
Marketing Intern, Luxottica

With a background of working in the event industry and closely associated with the advertisement industry, I have spent close to 2.5 years strengthening my foundation for a career in Brand Management. Hence, when I heard the announcement of Luxottica coming to campus for internship recruitment on Day Zero, it was nothing short of music to the ears. I began to prepare myself for the interview by focusing on the most important document which sets pace for one’s candidacy - my resume. I listed out my most relevant projects through which I had propelled brands in the region to reach more eyeballs and gain viral traction among the target audience. Next, I moved on to prepare for the most daunting and crucial phase, which was personal interviews. With the help of peers, seniors, and industry acquaintances, I coached myself to confidently face questions around HR basics, general awareness, and subject matter expertise. I worked relentlessly on the feedback I received on my areas of improvement, and always sought constructive criticism with utmost optimism. As a result of my endeavours, combined with zeal towards building a successful career in Brand Management, I was able to conduct myself positively in the final interview, and came out with flying colours

Sourima Dutta
Human Resource Intern, The Future Group

Having witnessed my family hosiery manufacturing firm adapt itself to the changing consumer needs over time, and then assisting a multinational retail giant with effective decision-making through data analytics, I developed a knack for the retail sector business. When I learnt that future group was coming to our campus for summer internship, I immediately kickstarted my preparation by doing an extensive research about the company. I instantly connected to its culture, consumer-centric business model and the way it values its employees. During the case study and interview round, I made sure to portray my analytical skills, creative mindset and my passion to work for the company. I showcased how the company values are in complete synchronisation with my personal goals. All the above factors led me to crack the interview and bag an internship with my dream company.   This article is written by Arunima Lal and Milan Choudhury who are currently pursuing IMB at SDA Bocconi Asia Center & are a part of the Student Media Committee.
