Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.
It was Day 9 of the Placement week when I finally got my shortlist for the company. It was a relieving moment, I quickly got into my preparation mode and Formals of course and sat for the process. It was a simple 25-minute discussion testing my knowledge regarding the desired role and while I was sleeping in the afternoon, I got a call from my friend wishing me congratulations for landing the internship. The batch WhatsApp group was overwhelmed and several missed calls were already there. It was one hell of a day to celebrate my birthday!
On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?
As the start-up culture has it, the onboarding was a simple ice-breaking session with the entire team at Amounee and debriefing about the role and the project and by the evening I was already working on a Google Sheet for my work!
How has your interaction with the team members and colleagues been like? How will you make sure to leave the best impression on your supervisors by the end of the internship?
The beauty of working in a startup is that communication becomes really easy. There's no team per se for the project I'm working on, hence I directly report to the CEO and the Co-Founders of the company.
The project I'm working on has been started from scratch by me, the inputs and feedbacks which I've given are helping the business achieve the goal they have set for the project, I continue to work hard for the remaining time of my internship and deliver the best results possible.
Tell us in brief, about the project you are currently working on and how is this project going to help the company?
The company Amounee, wants to go international after having successful 3 years in the country. My project deals with me making the strategy to have an international business plan for the company.
The project has made me take various roles from doing Global Market research to analysing the product catalogue, making the sales decks and pitches and handling the Corporate Communications.
So far I have got positive responses from three of the potential business vendors we have reached out to, hoping to make some Dollars for the company.

Give us an overview of how you prepared for your summer placement season.
The race for summer placement season begins well with the first placecomm meeting. So was mine, revising and learning all the Marketing Models and fundamental knowledge of management, in general, was of utmost importance. Reading about the companies visiting, the profiles offered, the ongoing projects in the company, etc were being made notes of to keep the information handy. As an additional measure, I tried to look up the LinkedIn profiles of the recruiters who came for our placements, to have an ice breaker for the interview.
Based on your internship experience till now, what are some necessary skill sets one must be prepared with before starting an internship?
Communication skills are very important for the first interaction you have with your mentor/guide, as good communication skills will help you understand the project and its requirements easily. Other skills include MS Office Suite, as it will help in doing most of the work required to do during the course of the internship, time management skill also tops the list as if not utilised properly, lack of this skill can be stressful to the candidate.
What are some new skills that you have developed while working in the company?
Cross Time Zone Working Ability - Since my project was based on international expansions, I was required to work across time zones to keep updated with the customers.
Powerpoint Skills - Although, I had this skill, but making presentations at a company level was one of its kind of experience for me.
Exploratory Research - Having published a paper in my first year of MBA, I thought doing research will be an easy task, but I was wrong, a market exploratory research skill was being acquired on the job.
