In this article, Saurav Kumar ,a student of IIM Kashipur who interned at K21 Academy in the Sales and Marketing domain, talks about his summer internship experience. Find out about how he prepared for the summer placements, his onboarding process, his experiences & what his learnings are during this internship.
Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.
After I came to know about the Job description of this role, I saw myself as one of the best condidate they would hire. Don't take it as my pride because this was something that I've done before on both, personal as well as professional level. The interview was a very good challenge as the masters in that field burst back-to-back specific questions. They were quite impressed by seeing my skills inline with what they wanted. When the conversation came down to appreciation from the head, I somewhat knew I had banged on!
On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?
The onboarding has been a process rather than winding up in few session. They have made my learn things while working on the tasks. Every team members related to Operations have been a key asset for my learning.
How has your interaction with the team members and colleagues been like? How will you make sure to leave the best impression on your supervisors by the end of the internship?
The onboarding process was very short and crisp but the mentors assured a confidence in me. The team members are very interactive and just a text away to help. It was a special feeling when their experience taught me so much in such short span of time.
Talking about marking my contribution and impression in my organisation, I have started taking up challenges from the first week itself. People here see a great potential in me and I give my best to keep that up. I have interacted with most of them while learning from them. The day I'll leave this organisation, I'll make sure the part I play during these 8 weeks will be remembered by each one of them.
Tell us in brief, about the project you are currently working on and how is this project going to help the company?
I am the only one responsible for the YouTube Operations in my organisation. It's a cloud learning academy where I'm responsible for handling the performance of the videos on YouTube. There is no project but a target to achieve that has been set by me(thanks to them).
