Are You The Best Summer Intern Of The Class Of 2022? Share Your Own Internship Experience.

Participate In Summer Saga Season 8 & Win Upto Rs. 15,000!

Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.

I got the internship from my college placements. There were 2 rounds- GD round and PI round

On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?

It was very engaging and insightful. we got to hear from all the CXO's and it was an exciting session

How has your interaction with the team members and colleagues been like? How will you make sure to leave the best impression on your supervisors by the end of the internship?

The interaction has been great. The buddies are there to help me out in every possible step. There are weekly reviews with the manager. But as it is an online mode, it comes with its own set of difficulties but the buddies and manager are there to bridge the gap

Tell us in brief, about the project you are currently working on and how is this project going to help the company?

Customer Journey mapping. The main objective is to identify pain points and solve them. More information cannot be provided as it is confidential

Are You The Best Summer Intern Of The Class Of 2022? Share Your Own Internship Experience.

Give us an overview of how you prepared for your summer placement season.

MS Excel. MS Word. MS PowerPoint. Power BI/Tableau. Good communication and market research skills.

Based on your internship experience till now, what are some necessary skill sets one must be prepared with before starting an internship?

1. Good communication skills,
2. Listening skills,
3. Quantitative skills,
4. Proficiency in MS word, excel, PowerPoint
5. Ability to ask questions and pro-activeness
-are important.
Given that companies are accelerating their focus on data day-by-day, it is crucial to have some basic data analysis and interpretation skills. Not only that, a manager should be able to communicate his/her findings with confidence as well. So, excel and PowerPoint are a must in this regard.

What are some new skills that you have developed while working in the company?

Market research and communication skills

What are some of the challenges that you have faced in your internship and how have you overcome them?

The major challenge was due to the online mode of internship. Getting in touch with the respective teams was very difficult. Many would not be available or there were technical difficulties from their end. Network issues also cancelled a lot of meetings. Also another challenge was that many team members were tested positive for COVID-19. Hence, were not available and could not be contacted. These were some of the major challenges that I faced during the internship period.

Tell us about a situation where you were complemented by your Manager for your work.

I suggested a method to reduce the documentation required in a certail process without the use of advanced technology such as AI, ML or bots. The problem in the process was resolved just by using common sense and a bit use of data analytics. This improvement required very less investment and could save the industry about a 100 crores. For this, I was complemented by my manager as well as the buddies.

What have been your major learnings during the internship?

Some of the key learnings were to be agile, flexible, patient, innovative and reach the root cause of a process to improve it. Improvement not always means that advanced technology will be reqiured. If a thorough understanding of the process is done, the basics can always be used to address the issues.

Tell us about your final presentation of the project to your manager in brief. What was the toughest question asked during the presentation and how did you answer it?

The presentation went quite well. He was impressed with the overall presentation. I was allotted 15 minutes to present my entire deck. The toughest question was that- why did I select the particular problem and how did I come accross the solution. I replied by saying that I conducted a market survey and got in touch with respective teams and came to a conclusion that the process was time consuming and expensive leading to dissatisfaction.

Some advice that you would like to give to your juniors based on your internship experience.

Have a clear mindset of the deliverables and keep in regular touch with your mentor/guide/manager/buddy.

What was one of the best moments according to you during your internship?

Understanding the problem and getting in touch with new people. I had to refine my entire thought process and learn new skill sets which really was the best moment of the internship. Moreover the appreciation I got for my work was overwhelming
