People matter, Results Count. This one line encompasses the essence of my experience at Capgemini, global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services. During the COVID-19 outbreak and the ensued chaos for businesses across the world, Capgemini honored all of its promises to upcoming B-School graduates.
A Summer at Capgemini
We had a smooth Virtual Onboarding Process and a well thought out & executed Induction Programme including insightful interactions with senior leaders of the organization. I was assigned to work under the guidance of my mentor & buddy for the 6-Weeks duration on the Project- Designing a Data Management Solution for Financial Institutions. As a fresher & commerce graduate this was my first interaction with IT Industry. I had a lot of difficulties in understanding the required output during first few days but my buddy despite his hectic schedule often extended our daily meetings to help me understand the nuances & structure. At Capgemini, People are valued. They have a dedicated HR team always supporting you in your development and experienced leaders guiding you to become a better version of yourself. During my first interaction with my mentor, I came to appreciate the importance core values, professionalism and results play in the work culture of Capgemini. You are a part of the organization and as long as you deliver the value you are given ample freedom to explore and build innovative solutions. My deliverables were broadly defined and flexible in their scope & execution. I read a lot of white papers and surveyed websites to broaden my understanding of the IT Industry and absolutely loved the talent, energy, innovation & complexity it holds. For my project I was successful in submitting all my deliverables on time and in required quality. I was able to bring on table many new points and learnt a lot from the experience & enthusiasm of both my mentor & buddy. Every interaction I had during those 6-weeks with any member of the organization including – Fellow interns, HR Team and IT team, was a valuable lesson. I experienced insane levels of commitment, energy & creativity and was motivated to deliver my best.
Summer Placements -2019
Moving to Summer Placements, before the start of selection process we got a chance to attend the presentation on Capgemini and were able to enrich our understanding of the organization through the experiences shared with us. There were 3 stages during the selection process. We first had a GD on a short financial case-study (in news) and then had 2 interviews. Questions were around the Capgemini Culture & Values, extra-curricular activities and from academics (First-Semester Syllabus-MBA). There were also 2 situation based questions in regards to committee & club POR’s. Overall it was a fast and smooth process. During the whole selection process, your enthusiasm, familiarity with organization, genuine interest and a sincere attitude definitely play an important role. (Tip: Go through the Capgemini Website once and be confident about every aspect of your resume)
