Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar witnessed yet another fruitful summer internship placement week, with over 80 organizations visiting the campus. Apart from the regular recruiters, which XIMB has always cherished, various new and emerging market leaders have also participated and offered coveted profiles to the MBA-BM and MBA-HRM students over a variety of domains.
The following Placement Report is an interim one of the Summer Internship Week-1 for the Batch 2016-18. There would be another Summer Internship Week later.
BFSI AXIS Bank formed a new alliance with our institution, offering profiles such as Business Finance, Business Development and Commercial Banking. ICICI, HSBC-IB, Capgemini, CRISIL, L&T Finance, RBI and SBI Capital also offered various profiles.
Consulting Prominent consulting firms like Deloitte, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, E&Y, Cognizant Business Consulting and IBM visited campus and offered various profiles in Domain Consulting.
FMCG/CD FMCG sector saw an increased participation this year with companies such as Godrej, L’Oreal, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, PPG Asian paints, UHG, Nestle, Wipro Consumer Care, Bluestar, GSK, Emami etc offering Sales & Marketing and Operations profiles.
Analytics The current year has also seen a steep rise in companies recruiting for the analytics role. Recruiters like IBM, CBC, Brillio, Tiger Analytics, offered niche profiles in Big Data analytics to the students at XIMB
IT - ITES Industry leaders like VMWare, Mindtree, TCS, Wipro, etc. made a significant presence on campus.
Manufacturing Tata Steel , Maruti Suzuki, Vedanta, VECV, Boston Scientific, Terumo and Tega Industries were amongst the prominent recruiters who visited campus offering many coveted profiles.
The
HRM batch saw an outstanding placement season with many reputed firms offering sought-after profiles in various sectors like BFSI, Retail, FMCG, Automobile, Pharmaceuticals, Telecom and Consulting. Brands like Godrej, Pepsico, L’oreal, HCCBPL, Aditya Birla, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Steel were hosted on campus. Strategic HR profiles were also offered to students by firms like Deloitte, ICICI, CBC, IBM, D.E Shaw and L&T. Prominent companies like Axis Bank, L&T Finance, United Health Group, Idea, Wipro, Vedanta and HP Enterprise also offered niche profiles. Recruiters like BPCL, Tega Industries, Garware Ropes and Uttam Galva also offered roles in the Industrial Relations domain.
Note: Summers in XIMB is done over two separate mini weeks. Each mini week is 3 days long. 1st week is conducted in August and the 2nd during January end. The 2nd week witnesses a higher percentage of start-up.
