My name is Lakshmi Sravya. I am a fresher looking forward to shape my future in one of the prestigious B-schools. In this process I got a call for interview from IIM Visakhapatnam and that was my first IIM interview call. Before that I converted the calls from other 2 private b schools and an IIM call excited me. I performed decently well in the interview and got converted. Though I was very happy I was confused whether to join a new IIM or to give an another try. First I thought of knowing completely about IIM Visakhapatnam.
I could state two major reasons to choose this college. First one is IIMB being its mentor. The curriculum is borrowed from IIMB and the faculty is a mix of both IIMB and IIMV. The second one is the beautiful city Visakhapatnam. Being the largest city in Andhra Pradesh, it is primarily an industrial city apart from being a port city. The strategic location of the place make it compete with old IIMs with in very few year. It has students from all over India and this diverse culture helps in building personality. The international immersion program helps to know about international affairs in business.
Then coming to placements, comparing on equal platform ,that is with baby IIMs, IIM Vizag ranks first among the baby IIMs and improving in its placements year by year. The achievement of the institute has been great since 3 years of its inception and the industry praise along with the placement reports is an indication of it. The infrastructure of the institute is probably one of the best ( I mean even among old & new IIMs). The various clubs and fests at IIMV clearly depicts an all round development. Our seniors were very helpful during the admission process and this makes sure we would have a great alumni support. These reasons really make me excited to join and I am waiting for the sunrise in CITY OF DESTINY.
Which ABG Company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla group companies is one among the fortune 500 companies. It would be a great experience for a fresher like me to join the company. Among the ABG companies, I would be more interested to work with Idea Cellular. I pursued my degree in the field of electronics and communication and this makes me more inclined towards idea cellular. I decided to pursue M.B.A to get a good exposure to both technical and management fields. Hence Idea cellular would be great platform to improvise my skills in both these areas.
