CSR is increasingly gaining importance in the corporate world. To inculcate the habit of community service, SCMHRD, a premier b-school, under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), is gearing up for its annual TE.A.CH drive. TE.A.CH stands for Teach A Child.
TE.A.CH, the flagship drive of INSPIRIT, the CSR Committee of SCMHRD, is all set to begin this January 2018. Owing to the massive success of the previous edition, TE.A.CH 2.0, is being undertaken to create a large scale and sustainable impact on the lives of children hailing from humble backgrounds.
TE.A.CH 1.0 saw participation from more than 250 volunteers, spread over two schools, Karmawati English Medium School and Sunflower English School. This year, through TE.A.CH 2.0, we plan to spread the program over three days (22

Since the schools come under Zila Parishad, the aim is to teach Kids things which textbooks can’t teach them. The modules designed are on Hygiene and Cleanliness, Nutrition and Exercise, Open Defecation, Importance of Trees, and Water Conservation.
An expected 300 volunteers are to participate in the event, imparting their knowledge to over 2000 children, for 2 hours per day.
To ensure that the event is not just for the namesake, feedback would be collected from the teachers as to how the students performed and if the sessions were helpful to bridge the gaps they see in their school children's growth. Follow up sessions would also be conducted, wherein the committee members would continue teaching the children on other important aspects for a sustained impact.
