How Aditya Birla plays a core part in my life
Have you heard of Peter England, Van Heusen, Louis Phillippe, and Allen Solly? Are you able to recognize what is common in all these big brand names? Yes, you guessed it right! All of the brands mentioned above are divisions of one of Asia’s biggest business conglomerate, The Aditya Birla Group. Starting from the house of Birla Haveli, Pilani, Rajasthan the journey was started by Shri Narayan Birla in the period of 1860s and has successfully established its base as multiple companies located in over 35 countries having collectively more employees than the multinational companies like Apple, Johnson n Johnson, etc.
Now talking about my life, my best buddy is my cell phone. Our bond is so strong that I go on checking my phone very frequently throughout the day for any calls or social media updates. Here the ABG interferes as Idea Cellular merged with Vodafone India as a large telecom company under Aditya Birla Group.
Thriving in the generation of 2019, like any other fashion freak, the group's firm Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd plays an immense role in providing a platform for the same. Pantaloon is one of the most visited malls by me. Other than that, the craze of brands like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England is very well known to everyone. Recently, I was facing difficulty in finding a suit according to the dress code rules that are followed by the B-School in which I am studying. In this situation, the only shop that sheltered me and provided me with the required suit was Peter England.
Other than that, Idea Payments Bank also made my life a lot easier. Online transactions are very easy to perform today anywhere anytime required without any need of carrying cash for exchange.
These are the examples of some small frequent instances where the Aditya Birla Group plays a large role in making our day to day life a lot easier. I hope that this famous empire continues its legacy and contributes to human welfare for more than 50 years.
My struggle towards my vision
The biggest challenge in my life that I have come across so far is summed up to two words, Time Management.
Benjamin Franklin once said,”
You may delay but time will not”.
I had read it before but was too lazy and adamant to get myself influenced by it. Starting from my engineering college days where I used to fritter away the time, I have been through a lot of challenges which very slowly but strictly taught me how to use time diligently.
But these things didn’t have had the least impact in my life when I was in my college days. Chilling around with friends, talking rubbish day in and day out and wasting my time doing all sorts of non-productive work were my favourite hobbies. Passing marks for academics was easily fetched by performing the last night's studies before exams. This habit compelled me to never concentrate on my academics as I had the option of mugging them up just before the exams. There was not a single purpose in my life for which I was serious. And the only thing about which I was least concerned in those days was time.
But after my college days ended, the real game began. I landed in a corporate job and my extraordinary quality of taking time for granted started trembling. Short project deadlines, continuous pressure of being punctual and proactive posed a great challenge to my overly relaxed and lethargic personality. But as time passed, I started getting used to it.
The actual twist in my life began when I discovered that I was not happy to be a part of the world of codes and then finally decided to do an MBA. This sudden decision brought with it excessive time management challenges, as I had to manage my job timings and also had to take out time for my studies to crack MBA entrance exams. Initially, it was a tough nut to crack as my coaching timings clashed with my job timings. Therefore, I had to put extra efforts to understand the syllabus of missed classes. Late-night production or code migration compelled me to stay late at the office. But my MBA exam preparation required continuous study and regular mocks. Therefore, a lot of nights I used to stay awake after returning from the office fulfilling these criteria. As the days passed, the problems worsened. My health started deteriorating. But it was still a long way to go. The only thing that kept me going through this time was my vision. But until this time, I had understood that the best friend I had with me was my time. Utilizing it wisely was the best I could do. There were a lot of moments where I felt like quitting. But I am glad I didn’t.
And finally, my hard works paid me and I got the opportunity of studying in one of the premier B-Schools of the country. But the struggle hasn’t ended yet. The rigorous curriculum of my B-school is designed in such a way that the students are continuously exposed to a lot of pressure of performing round the clock. Yes, it feels tough facing competitions and pressure of performing every time or the other but my previous experiences of time management are helping me a lot in fighting such situations.
Albert Einstein said it right – ‘
The only source of knowledge is the experience.’
